I have a new fan!
Actually been writing everyday this week and enjoying it. Making a lot of progress on a story idea I had and I've got a contact for a potential agent when it's done. Just want to get my first draft blerged out and then edit, edit, edit and maybe pass over the manuscript. Trying not to count chickens before they hatch but something just feels different this time. My motivation for this is completely different and I'm feeling my characters. They keep yelling at me when I'm not writing.
My boyfriend :)
My Lucina Amiibohttps://pbs.twimg.com/media/CGHlmL6U0AAs5M-.jpg that I pre-ordered online has came in the mail today! So I'm pretty happy about that. Tomorrow will be another good day as Splatoon is released and I should be able to pick up my game as I pre-ordered at Gamestop a couple weeks ago. I should have enough on me. :)
10,000 word milestone reached. I am like, immensely proud of myself right now.
Also I can't believe my novel is now the same length as my dissertation. It's like, a bizarre feeling that my novel is just still a baby but it's like, the same amount of words I spent months and months over when I was studying. Crazy.
A weekend trip to the Bay Area is imminent, which is always nice. Escaping near-100 degree heat in doing so makes me even happier. Also, catching up on podcasts.
Making Mexican shrimp cocktail with homemade tostadas and ground beef and refried bean nachos. nom nom nom
Saw the new Mad Max and now I'm riding pretty high.
I got my mom and grandmother hooked on American Horror Story. I also showed my grandma how to set up her Netflix on her smart tv so she can watch it at her home. She got so excited she almost broke my nose more, but then said "ooooh put on the American horror story movie". She thinks it's a very long movie. Bless her.
Kung Fury.
Held a full body plank for 30 seconds today, which is probably really trout to anyone who's fit and active, but it took me so much strength but I held it! Feels good! #beast
Hung out with my new friends last night and partied. Was sooo much fun- we were up until like 6 a.m. drinking and talking and stuff. I wound up staying the night with them and my girl like heated up soup for everyone before we went to bed, dude gave me clothes to sleep in and a toothbrush and toothpaste so I could brush my teeth, and the next morning he went and got breakfast for us- New York style bagels, cream cheese, eggs, and bacon. :D
We really wanna start double dating and doing trout together. I'm really excited though. These guys are so freaking awesome.
What's not to love today? Lost another 3lbs, my pants feel a bit slack, my skin has cleared up (even my body acne!), had a lovely sleep, it's a sunny day, gonna do my hair this week, it's my birthday this month, and I'm going to blast through some more chapters of le novel!
I went with my homegirl to the dentist today way out in Elmhurst. We rode the bus there, but then the dude we hung out with on Saturday night was in the area, so he picked us up and brought us home.
tl;dr
We ended up doing some light partying at her and her boyfriend's place (also my homie) and my girl and I wound up cooking dinner for the other guys that were there (her bf's brother and friends) and they loved it.
Mel & I just absolutely flowed together in the kitchen. It was so cool. Like everything we made was all finished at exactly the same time and it all tasted soo good.
And she gave me some of her jewelry.
She also got to actually meet and talk to my boyfriend today too, so we're all going to hang out together in Friday night to celebrate my bf's graduation. My girl and I are gonna cook dinner and we're going to play games and drink and its just gonna be awesome.
aaaannnnnnddd tomorrow, my girl is gonna come over and hang out and I'm gonna fix lunch.
I'm so incredibly lucky and thankful to have found such a killer group of people. They're amazing and there aren't enough good things I can say about them.
Had a lovely meal with MissH last night at CAU in Wilmslow. They fed her the wrong burger on our first visit which contained a cheese she can't have during pregnancy. We obviously complained so they invited us back for a complimentary meal by way of an apology.
We had a lovely cheese and bacon burger with sides of fries, onion rings and a tomato salad. Chocolate brownie with ice cream for dessert. MissH had a couple of fabulous virgin mojitos. She looked gorgeous too!
Lovely evening :D
