I've made poison and bone necros before, so I'm comfortable with the build, but any equipment would be delicious.
All of those would be fun, but without anybody to play with, it's just blah. It's BLAH. Which is why one day I will get you, Koast, and Chimney together and the four of us will make 'original' chars and play them. And none of you have a choice.
Make a barb that maxes out the Totem thing .
Edit: I'd also like to say that I think Attract is an underrated skill. It's not as good as having lots of summons, but it can take the place of summons well enough if you don't have the points and you use it right. Attract is love, y'all. :smash:

There's a bunch of equipment that has chance to cast Terror on hitting, striking, and being struck also. So I could simply jack my Life up to huge degrees and stand there will I get pummeled and cast Terror automatically.
Then they would never know it was me.
Or I could jack Mindblast up to around lvl 51 and watch as the enemy waltzed about until suddenly attacking a noob. The Conversion Pally skill would work as well.
Hmmm... A real interesting, delicate build would be to make a build that focused on having mounters kill each other. You could call the build The Convictor or something...
-
I like you because you're a genius. And because you smell nice when you sleep. But mostly the genius thing.
-
To add on to your suicide build Nom, I always thought it would be fun to make an Iron Maiden Necromancer or Thorns Paladin, equip them with a lot of Thorns-related equipment, pump up life and sit back and watch the enemy kill itself without lifting a finger.
-
-
The suicidal-thorns pally doesn't quite work, unless you feel particularly great only living in Normal difficulty. In Hell difficulty, even with a lvl 42 Thorns aura and almost 5k life, I was only able to kill two of Eldritch's horde before my Life bulb ran dry.
I tried employing a suicidal mercenary, which sort of worked, though the process was tedious and long. There was some humour in reviving a lvl 12 merc to act as a Lvl 40-50 Fire/Cold/Lightning/Poison bomb, however...
I have decided to make a Glass Cannon, though I'm not sure which skills to chose. Whoever has made a Bowazon before, please enlighten me.
EDIT (after hours of experimentation via SP):
OMFG, a Bowazon's AR is disgusting.

And when under the influence of a Combat Shrine, it's astronomical...

My bowazons have crappy AR for some odd reason, despite getting a passive skill that boosts it. The only thing that hits anybody is Guided Arrow, and that's only because it always hits. I'm cursed or some such.

Cool!
So...I won't be on until maybe Saturday I'm in the process of attempting to graduate before Monday. I was a lazy as hell Sophmore and Junior.

Nom, I have a glass canon zon I use for MFing and I enjoy her much. For skills I maxed Guided, Strafe, Valk (If you are glass, you need a meat shield), and spread some out over the Passive skills. about 3-5 since gear brings them up to the point where they start to pooter out. Stats, Ive put nearly everything in to Dex, ending up with somewhere near 450 dex (at level 86)
I use BOTD Crusader Bow, Umed Shako, Enigma, Chanceguards, Wartravs, Goldwrap, Ravenfrost, Lifeleech/Ressie Rare ring, Crecent Moon Ammy (for lleech and mleech goodness), a Perfect Gheeds, 17/18 anni, 18/20 torch, 15 all ressie 6 dex GC, mondo Poison scs (about 900 dmg worth), and a couple mf scs as well.
My damage is only about 2000-4000, but if I swapped out my gear for +skills stuff Im certain it would be much more grand. Either way, with all the lleech and mleech I refill both anytime I hit something so I rarely die under non-lag induced circumstances.

I'll be remaking my Zon soon. xD

I was thinking of this following set-up:
Skills:
Magic Arrow = 1
Cold Arrow = 1
Multiple Shot = 13
Ice Arrow = 1
Guided Arrow = 20
Strafe = 20
Inner Sight = 1
Critical Strike (passive) = 20
Dodge (passive) = 1
Slow Missiles = 1
Avoid (passive) = 1
Penetrate (passive) = 1
Decoy = 1
Evade (passive) = 1
Valkyrie = 8
Pierce (passive) = 20
Mulit-Shot seems a waste after you hit the 24 arrow mark, as it never increases damage output - only mana expenditure.
Guided Arrow is a lovely skill, and so I shall max it so as to gain a respectable increase in damage and reduce the mana cost to 1. Shooting around corners was incredibly fun in Single Player.
Strafe will be maxed for obvious reasons.
Pierce and Critical Strike will maxed only if I somehow have this character reach level 99. Basically, I plan to dump 10 points in each at first, and then filling them in as I level past 89.
I thought of increasing the Valkyrie, since one could simply max her completely and simply tag along throughout the game - watching as the Valk beat the game in your stead.
But even at level 8, she ought to reach level 17 from my +skill items, which is the point when she spawns with all Rare equipment. She also has a large amount of life at this point, allowing her to tank Baal or Diablo easily.
Really, she's meant to tank, while I kill. So 8 points seems perfect.
Armour: Fortitude Dusk Shroud (or Wire Fleece since it makes the Zon damn sexy)
Weapon: Faith Grand Matron Bow
Rings: Ravenfrost
A rare or crafted ring with LL and ML
Gloves: The +skills/20%IAS pair I found, or a crafted Hit power gloves in order to get Knockback (which may also grant the very desirable +skill/20%IAS/LL/ML mods as well)
And then the rest of the gear is difficult for me to chose...
Helms:
Giant Skull
Defense: 350-477 (varies)(Base Defense: 100-157)
Required Level: 65
Required Strength: 106
Durability: 40
+250-320 Defense (varies)
10% Chance Of Crushing Blow
Knockback
+25-35 to Strength (varies)
Socketed (1-2) (varies)
Knockback is a lovely mod to have as a Glass Cannon, and the fact that it may spawn with 2 open sockets gives me the option of placing a Shael or Um rune(s), or select Jewels that raise my attack speed, max/min damage, resists, defense, etc...
However, other than the Knockback and 2 open sockets, there is nothing great about this helm. Additionally, it offers no LL or ML, and the sockets are used in order to achieve IAS% or some less useful mod.
Andariel's Visage
Defense: 310-387 (varies)(Base Defense: 101-154)
Required Level: 83
Required Strength: 102
Durability: 20
+100-150% Enhanced Defense (varies)
+2 To All Skills
20% Increased Attack Speed
8-10% Life Stolen Per Hit (varies)
+25-30 To Strength (varies)
+10% To Maximum Poison Resist
Fire Resist -30%
Poison Resist +70%
15% Chance To Cast Level 15 Poison Nova When Struck
Level 3 Venom (20 charges)
This helm is terribly appealing, as it has 20% IAS, +skills, a huge poison resist, and a high LL. However, it has a penalty of -30% Fire resistances, and with little +resistances equipment available to a Bowazon, this may hurt. But I have 2 meat shields twenty metres in front of me at all times, so it ought not be much of an issue - at least on paper it seems that way.
Tal Rasha's Horadric Crest
Defense: 99-131 (varies)(Base Defense: 54-86)
Required Level: 66
Required Strength: 55
Durability: 20
10% Life Stolen Per Hit
10% Mana Stolen Per Hit
All Resistances +15
+45 Defense
+30 To Mana
+60 To Life
Someone explain to me why something designated for the Sorceress is so damn close to perfect for a Bowazon? The huge LL and ML, coupled with resistances, is too difficult to ignore. The only thing this helm is missing is an IAS modifier, which can be added via a socketing quest and placing a select Jewel in the newly formed socket. This helm is also missing a +skill modifier, but it seems as though +skill items don't quite make such a big difference in non-mage builds.
This helm is also ass-ugly.
M'avina's True Sight Diadem
Defense: 200-210(varies) (Base Defense: 50-60)
Required Level: 64
Durability: 20
+150 Defense
Replenish Life +10
+25 To Mana
+30% Increased Attack Speed
Other than the very large IAS modifier, I don't see any reason to use this helm but with the belt, which would grant a +1skills mod and 20 strength. But I don't need strength, and I believe I can find IAS elsewhere.
It does look nice on the Amazon though, seeing as it's a circlet.
Ultimately, I think I'll likely use either Tal Rasha's or Andy's, unless I find a orgasmic rare/crafted circlet with IAS/skills/LL & ML, etc...
Belts:
Vosferatu's Coil
Defense: 56-63 (varies)
Required Level: 51
Required Strength: 50
Durability: 14
16 Boxes
Slows Target By 10%
+2 To Mana After Each Kill
5-7% Life Stolen Per Hit (varies)
+15 To Strength
10% Increased Attack Speed
-3 To Light Radius
Honestly, this seems to be the perfect choice. There is nothing I can't complain about in this belt. It has LL, Slow, +Str mods. The only thing missing is ML, which can easily be found in rings/helms/amulets.
Wilhelm's Pride
Defense: 75 (Base Defense: 37-42)
Required Level: 42
Required Strength: 88
Durability: 18
16 boxes
+75% Enhanced Defense
5% Life Stolen Per Hit
5% Mana Stolen Per Hit
Cold Resist +10%
OR
M'avina's Tenet
Defense: 81-86 (varies)(Base Defense: 31-36)
Required Level: 45
Required Strength: 20
Durability: 14
16 boxes
+50 Defense
+20% Faster Run/Walk
+5 To Light Radius
5% Mana Stolen Per Hit
All Resistances +25 (4 Items)
Basically, these belts will be used simply if I cannot get my hands on the Vosferatu's Coil. Wilhem's is the only belt I know of that grants duel leech, and M'avina's isn't bad at all with the FR/W and ML.
Boots:
War Traveler
Defense: 120-139 (varies)(Base Defense: 39-47)
Required Level: 42
Required Strength: 95
Durability: 48
Assassin Kick Damage: 37-64
+150-190% Enhanced Defense (varies)
25% Faster Run/Walk
+10 To Vitality
+10 To Strength
Adds 15-25 Damage
40% Slower Stamina Drain
Attacker Takes Damage Of 5-10 (varies)
30-50% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items (varies)
For one reason or another, when I equipped these boots in Single Player, they raised my damage output by around 300-400 points. My guess is that somehow the 15-25 added damage modifier is being ran through the unique formula of finding her damage, and so it's given extra enhanced damage privileges, though I may be incorrect. Whatever the reason, there is a noticeable jump in damage output. I wish the FR/W speed was higher, and that there was a bonus given to Dexterity instead of Strength and Vitality, but overall, these boots seem best.
I imagine that there are rare/crafted boots that would most definitely be termed as godly for a Bowazon floating around out there. A nice increase in Dex and resistances would be perfect.
Amulets:
Crescent Moon
Required Level: 50
10% Damage Taken Goes To Mana
+45 To Mana
3-6% Life Stolen Per Hit (varies)
11-15% Mana Stolen Per Hit (varies)
Magic Damage Reduced By 10
-2 To Light Radius
This amulet boasts a marvelous ML and a very nice LL as well. However wonderful this amulet may be in that respect, it's the only thing about it that will benefit me. If I am short on ML items, I think I'll simply wear this amulet.
Highlord's Wrath
Required Level: 65
+1 To All Skills
+20% Increased Attack Speed
+ (0.375 Per Character Level) 0-37 % Deadly Strike (Based On Character Level)
Lightning Resist +35%
Adds 1-30 Lightning Damage
Attacker Takes Lightning Damage Of 15
The Lightning resistances and 20% IAS are quite nice, as is the Critical Stike modifier. The only issue with the Critical Strike mod is that my inherent Critical Strike ability is calculated first, and then run through a calculation that makes wearing this amulet less appealing than it first appears. The +skill aspect is negligible.
Atma's Scarab
Required Level: 60
5% Chance To Cast Level 2 Amplify Damage On Striking
20% Bonus To Attack Rating
+40 Poison Damage over 4 seconds
Poison Resist +75%
+3 To Light Radius
Attacker Takes Damage of 5
As a Bowazon, I will already have a huge amount of AR, and so the 20% AR boost won't be of any real use to me. knowing that a Bowazon emplioys Strafe religiously, the chance to cast Amp modifier looks like sex on hot sauce. The poison resistances is also nice, though poison doesn't seem to be a very damaging element.
The Cat's Eye
Required Level: 50
+30% Faster Run/Walk
+20% Increased Attack Speed
+100 Defense Vs. Missile
+100 Defense
+25 To Dexterity
There is nothing I can complain about in this amulet. IAS and FR/W, with an ample boost in dexterity. If I find that the chance to cast Amp is deceptively low, or that I have enough ML and LL elsewhere, I will likely use this amulet.
===============================================================
So, any suggestions as to what looks best? What looks wonderful on paper, but is wonderfully effective in-game? Or visa versa?

Damn Nom, you must have a lot of time on your hands to do all of this research on new builds all the time. :p
