...someone save me...
I can..."save" you. But it requires that I take your accounts from you and transfer everything to accounts you cannot access. :cP
Most Bowazons I know of maximize Valkyrie as much as possible, for Strafe automatically aims, and hits targets off-screen. The only problem with a Bowazon is Physical immunes, which can be dealt with, in various fashions.
The thing about Guided Arrow is that it doesn't save on arrow economy, and while fun in single player to shoot past corners, a Valkyrie and a Mercenary should be able to absorb the one or two hits that are required before you shoot the living daylights out of that enemy. If a Valkyrie is maxed out, then it should be able to take the enemy by itself.
Here's what I once used:
20 Strafe
20 Valkyrie
20 Penetrate (or which ever one increases AR)
20 Decoy (Valkyrie life synergy)
1 in requisites
1-5 in passives (Critical Strike, etc)
This build puts less of a strain on +skills, and emphasizes the meat tank more. Strafe is more than enough.
Helm: I would agree with Bone Visage (if resistance is what you need, stick one of the low runes, and rotate it as necessary) or Andy's. The lack of fire resistance can easily be overturned by a simple Ral rune. It brings the resistance up by 30, nulling it out. I'm not sure if Dream's Holy Shock would help with the Physical Immunes, nor provide what you're looking for, but is also an option. M'avina's Helm is also an option. If you REALLY, and I mean REALLY need the resistance, use Kira's Unique Circlet (which I also have).
Armor: Chains of Honor. In so many ways is this the perfect armor for a Bowazon. Great resistance (+65 static), increased damage to both Undead and Demons, Lifesteal, reduces damage by 8%. This makes up for the increased damage and defense of Fortitude.
Bow: Grand Matron Faith. Right on the dot. Alternatively, you could also try wearing CtA and Spirit on the alternative set. However, you could try Titan's on the other set for an alternative attack, when combined with TGod's.
Amulet: Cat's Eye, Mara's. The usual, or a Rare with +skills, res, whatever you need. You could also use Highlord's Wrath, which has IAS and a +skills.
Rings: Ravenfrost and Rare. You could also double up on the Ravens for the +Dex. BK's also provide Lifesteal.
Boots: Uhh, Gores (for the CB)? You don't really have too many options here, unless you are lacking in some certain department. If Res, Nat's (Cold/Lite), Aldur's (Fire), or IK (it's got some okay mods, but its true beauty is when mixed with IK Gloves and Belt). I'm not very comfortable with the War Traveler's damage mods (remember that you can't trust the character screen).
Belt: I have a Nosferatu's Coil. I might be online later today, PM for details. IK would also suffice for the Fire/Lite res. M'avina's Tenet also works fairly well. Alternatively, you could also throw on Thundergod's Vigor, which has a 5% chance to heal (casts FoH on strike). The Lightning skills are useless, unless you want a Lightning skill as a backup. In which case, I also have a Titan's for you.
Gloves: Magnus' Skin. +IAS is all that you need, and it comes with Cold res. Alternatively, you can go with IK Gloves/Boots for the synergized IAS, or M'avina's Gloves/Belt, for whatever synergy you happen to get. Lava Gout Uniques also bear 20% IAS and fire res. Soul Drainer Uniques have both Life and Manasteal, but no other spectacular mods.
Charms: I have 2 Passives GCs. I would be more than happy to lend them to you. If you are on later tonight, PM me for details.
Beforewarned that in order to get any +resistance out of M'avina's you need 4 parts. These mods appear only on M'avina's Belt and Helm, for a total of +50 resistance to all. Depending on your items, you should be able to hit maxed, or close to it, as that CoH is a huge boost.
Hmm, I didn't look too closely at the idea of wearing Chains of Honour, but due to the LL, Res, and IAS, and huge increased damage to Undead and Demons, it may be better.
The Bowazon seemed spectacular in The Chaos Santuary, which is littered with Demon-type enemies. I think I will experiment in Single Player a bit more.
I'm still very conflicted on what helm to use. None of them seem to really shine and scream "CHOSE ME".
Wearing a Giantskull with appropriate Jewels/Runes would allow me to have Knockback without crafting gloves. Andy's grants IAS and a large LL and PRes. And Tal Rasha's grants a very large duel leech.
I think they all require around the same amount of strength, so I could switch them out on command wihtout any fuss.
As for boots, I think survival is better than damage output at this point. So whatever res I am lacking in, I will opt to wear a pair that will cover the weak res.
The gloves I have are already better than Magnus'. They grant 20% IAS, +2Passive, Enhanced Defense, and ML. The only thing they're missing is res. I've never had an issue with achieving a respectable Cold Resistance, but I suppose we'll see.
Yeah, I need to redo my zon! xD
CoH is your best bet, armorwise. Since in Hell mode, you only need approximately 150 resistance for full, you have instantly reduced your requirements to 85, all. Chaos Sanctuary is littered with Demons and Undead; there are no Animal type enemies until right before you get there, and even then, they are easily dispatched. Iron Maiden is no problem, since it only works at melee range.
Depending on which helm you want to use, any of them could be possible. Remember that IAS maxes out at around 95%. With a high Dex rating, it's more like 75%. PvM only really requires around 5000 Defense, total, and 7000 AR.
If you want res, so that you don't have to worry about it on other equipment, go with Kira's (I believe that mine is 57% all), and can be socketed (with Larzuk). Andy's +100% Poison is also a boon to choose. Skull Visage seems to have the best ideal for customization: two 15% IAS jewels are 30% IAS, but runes could also be used to increase resistance. Two Um runes is an additional 19%, bringing your total to 38% all in Visage. Tal's Helm is also another option with 15% all res, static boost to Life, Mana, and Life/Manasteal. It is also by far the cheapest.
However, if you go with my suggested build, your only real problem would be Mana. Therefore, Manasteal would be of a higher priority, putting preference toward Tal's. IAS has a cap on an Amazon, as well.
There are very few outstanding boots that should be used in all situations. Same for Gloves, but since you have some with good stats, treat your boots like Rings. I'll assume you know which Rings, Amulet, and Belt to use.
Do you even have a Grand Matron Bow? Because I sure as hell don't. Fortunately for you, Faith covers many other weak points. I have a 4Os Blade Bow as of the moment, but not a GM bow.
Have you given any thought to what Mercenary you will use? I'm not sure that Might works on a Bowazon, but it sure as hell boosts your Valkyrie. You shouldn't need Blessed Aim. However, I might think that Concentration (Pride) would work wonders. Thorns would be pretty useless.
However, you could simply not worry about Lifesteal nor Manasteal if you slipped on a Prayer with Insight. That might free up room for resistance (Kira's). A regular Mercenary build would suffice (any helm, Fortitude, Insight if mana boost, Pride for Concentration)
I tried a Pride NM Offensive Mercenary in Single Player, and it seemed to be the best option as it raises your damage to a very respectable amount.
I liked the Giant Skull most when I tested the equipment. The ability to customize without losing Knockback is ever so lovely. There are jewels that grant 40% Enhanced damage as well, so that could be an option (albeit an expensive one).
I actually like this build quite a bit. Unlike many other builds, you can easily switch items in and out without smurfing your main skill over.
As my Necromancer traverses the Nightmare difficulty, he faces many woes of curses. I need me some Lower Resist, so why must they override it with everything but? When did Decrepify get so popular? How is Iron Maiden helping the Amazon and me? Who in their right mind uses Weaken? I do not have the answers to these questions. No, I can only muse the matter and wonder...and wonder....
I also need to remake my Bowie hardcore, 'coz I screwed up big with mine. Don't you just hate when that happens.
Edit: And Hammerdins are fail and everybody that has one is fail. *Looks at Koast and Chimney*
If you got online and played with us, you'd know. :smash:
Is Koast supposed to be me? I'll have you know that I hate using my Hammerdin.
I prefer MFing with my Wind Druid and my MFer Barbarian.
BadKarm
Also, 3-4 cds and I can't find one.
I don't get it.
Anyways, Cim, when you get home, I'll be online with that Grief in eoff/trout.
I only post at home, school or library xD
When we all have our Zons reworked, we should rape Baal runs by lagging them all out.
