This is a forum basically filled with people playing classic FF games almost entirely for their nostalgia value. If you don't want nostalgia to prevail, you may be in the wrong place. :greenie:

I've put away my nostalgia and it helped me appreciate certain installments more after the initial infatuation, and finding out that others are simply bad.

There is nothing wrong with old pokemon or new pokemon. I just want people to give everybody a chance and not biased.

And Beautifly is totes cuter than Butterfree.

I objectively prefer caterpie to its strangely-winged opponent. 'Twas not a disagreement caused by nostalgia-tinted glasses. But to each their own. :greenie:

Beautifly is definitely cuter but Gen 1 has a certain level of charm. Like, Beautifly is almost exactly the same as Butterfree. The concept is the same. And I know that we have duplicates of animals in meat space but their individuality is important in Pokémon and doubling up with that (and making a sword pokemon are you kidding me) just diminishes their value.

But hey, some of them can be cute.

Yeah I might not like Beautifly more than Butterfree overall, but I can acknowledge that it is cuter. I just prefer Caterpie to its opponent. And Vulpix to its opponent. Their generations are merely a coincidence, I swear! :sweat:

Yes, but Beautifly's design is more refined. I'm not really big on the designs of gen I as I feel many people overhype them. Also, people hating on Honedge for being a sword forget gen I gave us a pokeball with eyes, a blob of sludge, a rock with arms, and whatever the smurf Jynx was supposed to be.

Indeed. I can imagine Nicki did that on purpose. Otherwise, she's clearly ignorant of pop culture.

I'm really hoping she did it on purpose, otherwise she chose to look like that because she thought it looked good and that's terrifying.
