I hated FFX2 at first, but I came to like it later. An ongoing joke in this and other forums is that "You know you have been playing FFX2 for too long when... you start liking the game"
My main beefs with it now:
- It is not FFX, nor it achieves it's quality (a problem with most sequels, I guess). The disappointment made me not see the qualities of FFX2 for a long time. Same with the music
- Uneven quality: Chapters 1 and 5 were very good, chapters 2 and 4 s*cked and chapter 3 was in between. Chapter 4, if it didn't have Yuna's concert, would be a complete waste of time
- Too girly even for me, a girl. We could only control the 3 girls, the name for "dresspheres" and "Garment grids" was girly (what about "suit" and "skill grids" or something less sissy Square Enix ?). The look, music was too upbeat. Some dialogs were extremely kiddie, girly land superficial... You go in expecting FFX darkness and you get "Charlie's Angels".. WTF ?!?
- For romantic females like me, there was not enough Tidus and Yuna action. See her pinning for him the entire game was frustrating and annoying. And then you get a mere 2 minutes of OST ?!? Then you have to play an insane am mount of side quests to get THAT "perfect ending" ? I almost threw my wireless controller out of the window!
What he said.. :DQuote:

This annoyed and iritated a lot of their target for the game. And the rest turned off the other fans...
