I was just in it again
I've grabbed all I need
I was halfway through a Baal run in that game ;__;
At least you didn't lose anything. <3
Yus
They also ban you for:
A) joining or leaving games too quickly or in a repeated fashion (killa gets Realmdowned for Baal runs all the time)
B) changing characters on a single account too quickly or in a repeated fashion (I get tempbanned for mule checking very frequently)
C) lagging (yes, lagging)
Warden (the online collective term for all of Blizzard's security measures, even though it functions solely as spyware, which is in turn used for detecting hacks and third party programs) is capable of banning IP, connection source, and CD-Key. You were either hit by the second or the third.
What really humors me about b.net and its security measures is that when I run my bot, it never gets realm-downed (as it waits a set period before creating a new game). However, when I play as myself, I realm-downed for performing actions similar to a bot.
Eh?
I get banned for the game "thinking" I'm a bot now and again. Plus, they implemented those new anti-dupe measures or whatever and I constantly get kicked because my game seems to read like that's what I'm doing. I dunno, that's the best I can figure anyway, because it never used to happen and now it does.
And I used to do so many runs in a row that it would temp ban me, too. I'm human, damnit, let me run my runs :nonono:
I reckon I now have around 1/12 of the game's total uniques and 1/10 of its sets.
It will become much more difficult when I am unable to save each and every unique or set I come across. In fact, the items I take back with me will exponentially decreases, it would seem.
I really don't know what I will accomplish by collecting every single possible item in the game, but nonetheless, I want to.
EDIT: It will take even longer when b.net realm-downs me....
If you preset it to a long enough delay between games, it'll never get you. However, it's easier to catch a person doing bot-like things, because of the little things that humans do to give themselves way. You'd think it would work backwards, but it doesn't.
They don't want you to do endless runs/endless Baal, either, so I'm not surprised by that.
Well, it's already been done by all of those companies that profit from selling MMORPG stuff, but they are multiple people. I'm not sure what you want to accomplish, either, but it's your call. Whatever floats your boat.
I don't get Blizzard's line of thinking on that at all. The biggest allure of Diablo II is the variety of items and attempting to hunt the rarest ones and make the best character possible. But they refuse to just accept that. They're anti-runs, anti-MF, anti-transfering, anti-stash space, anti-mule, anti-everything that makes Diablo II what it is. Everybody just gets around it, anyway. It seems pointless.
Dear god, I hope they haven't banned my CD-Key, I only have one for the non expansion.
I wish ATMA worked for b.net....
I take it that you've never played 1.03 vanilla, or 1.07 expansion.
They are anti-runs, because it's too easy to store items. Also, there's a greater increase on server demands. Even though you can summon a new client, the buzz doesn't go away for a long while. So massing games isn't fun for the servers.
They are anti-muling/MF, because Diablo II is supposed to be about item management. You have ti know what to sell and to throw away, and what to keep.
They officially are not anti-transferring. Anything you lose is your own fault for the same reasons listed above.
I'll agree on the Stash, and that their restrictions are incredibly harsh. However, if you've ever played Diablo I, you'll know just exactly why they put these restrictions in place. That game died online years ago. I'm surprised they even bother to support it anymore. It's almost the same for Starcraft.
I think that they ban on the Expansion if you got caught by Warden on expansion. If you've never cheated (or even been online for Vanilla), then you'll be fine.
ATMA will never work online, because the coding base assumes that all things about characters are stored locally. Since Realms are stored on the servers, re-writing ATMA to work for B.net would be an entirely different program, not to mention the added code to keep it from appearing malicious to Warden.
Tav, I'm not that stupid.
Just a passing wish that I know will never happen.
What nonsense, if you aren't Tav, you're stupid. I thought this was general knowledge.
This is me sticking it to you for suggesting ATMA for Median (and PlugY likes to glitch the smurf out of Median, as I told you during an xfer session, I believe). I get 3 verbal insults and reminders, and then I have you as my xferring bitch, and speaking of which, I do need another tomorrow; anytime works for me. PM me when you are on.
This one is because I am making a new character, so my Druid is busy running around finding stuff.
