And because I like to argue....

I don't think it's possible to get the wrong cutie mark the normal way, but it really showed that the characters in this show have a personality and are not one-dimensional, they have strengths and weaknesses, and this episode really showed that.
I disagree that is a good point, because the show has already done a wonderful job establishing these as very well written characters. In addition, as I pointed out earlier, we only really see the five that aren't Twilight do only the most basic traights of what they did, and showed they weren't very good at doing the jobs of the others, something we've had episodes dedicated to before. (Everyone telling Rarity how they wanted their dresses in Art of the Dress as one example, Fluttershy's handling of the Dragon in Dragon Shy as another).

2. The songs were just beautiful, and didn't get in the way at all - I was expecting to not like at least one, but it added so much to the show, and some of them made me really believe what was happening.
I wasn't to fond of the songs, though they weren't bad. They just felt kind of pointless in the grand scheme of things, where as previous times they have served some sort of purpose. Examples include...
1) Giggle at the Ghosties from Episode 1. It served as a method to make the dark and creepy woods look silly, as well as highlight the outrageous nature of Pinkie Pie.
2) Art of the Dress. The song described Rarities desire to help her friends, as well as the building frustrations and stress of everyones constant Input.
I could go on, but in both of those cases, as well as others, I'd feel like if they were cut something would be missing. I can't say that about a single song from this finale outside of the True Friends song, even if I didn't like it that much it still seemed like there was purpose to it.

3. The scene where Twilight is shown scenes from pervious episodes to show how far she's gone was just heart-warming and even a little tear-jerking.
I disagree, because I didn't think the episode earned that moment. Again as I pointed out earlier, the entire conflict of the episode is introduced and resolved in 10 minutes. I know this, because I watched the time on the episode. It was around 9:30 she started curing the mixed up Cutie Marks.

4. I actually do think that maybe, Twilight becoming a princess was planned from the get-go. Think about it, there's been signs that she was being trained for something important since episode one.
I don't deny that, but it doesn't change that she just became a princess out of nowhere. We get 'solve this spell', spell is solved, then 'wow you're a princess now'. Again they didn't do anything to earn the moment.

5. Derpy was shown. The real Derpy, but we'll see if she's back for good and this isn't just a finale farewell to her (remember, the writers want her to stay too, but if they aren't allowed to use her they won't. Hopefully she's back, but if not, we'll still see her in fanon.
Eh, I'm not worried one way or the other about Derpy showing up. I'd like her too, but outside of an easter egg the show isn't missing anything.

6. The word "Alicorn" has finally been used for its proper meaning (it was used in Magic Duel, but it wasn't actually clear if it meant what it meant in our world.
Another point that's a bit irrelevant to me, but whatever. :p

7. It's obvious that they are still aware of the two non-preschool targets (bronies, and fans of the old generations - and yes, I know bronies weren't the planned target).
While it's nice to know the keep in mind their varied audience, it's not something I feel will make up for any problems. This is actually a really low priority for me, but I can see why it might matter more to someone else.

8. Agree with Twilight's change or not - she is obviously the same character, and that is evident already to me. Also, she did look really cute at the end. ^_^.
Well, yes she's the same character, but that's only a point if you think 'not completely mucking it up' is a good point. :p
And I actually think every other ponies outfit looked a lot better then Twilights. It's like they had Rarity design every outfit, but they decided to outsource for twilights. :p
