FF7 riddles

I suppose Yuffie, Red, and Cid could have been in on some sort of conspiracy. Yuffie sliced the sleeping Cloud with the point of a Shuriken, then smeared blood on whatever sword Cloud happened to have beside him at the time. Since Red and Cid, however, figured Yuffie would make a break with the materia, Cid ordered the Highwind to launch a missle attack on Cosmo Canyon, to give Red an excuse to be "waiting" for the deviant and annoying young ninja. Red pushes Yuffie to her demise, then makes up the story about seeing her run past. Cid, having deceived Vincent about Highwind radio contact, appears to play no role. The motive? Cloud is the unfortunate victim in a scheme with the ultimate purpose of removing the blight that is (was) Yuffie from the world.

Well, that's probably wrong. I just don't see, however, where there's enough concrete info to establish any one scenario. I should read the riddle again.

Well at least you're thinking a bit more openly and including things :D . To be honest, even when solved fully there will still be doubt in this riddle,there is one point near the end that may be of worry, but noones really near that yet... well kinda.

Weimar has been quite logical, but has overlooked some possibilities, and also one problem, which will be my first real clue. Consider Yuffie's death seriously.

Um... first, Bugenhagen is dead. o.O So either you just forgot that when writing the riddle, or Red's a lying SOB and used his dead grandfather as a distraction. :mad:

I would say Yuffie took Cloud's materia. Red killed her (No one else was in the area, and Red and Yuffie saw each other. No weapon was used to kill her, so it was likely Nanaki, as he could easily push her off the cliff, and I doubt a ninja would have such poor balance :P).

Not sure who killed Cloud, yet. That's all I've got so far. XD

The only prob with your theory, Luthien, is that the riddle clearly states that Yuffie couldn't have murdered Cloud. The weapon was Cloud's sword, but the riddle states that Yuffie didn't have the strength to use it.

I do think Yuffie had something to do with it, though, judging from the missing materia and her being pushed off a cliff.

I used to read a lot of Clue books, so I'm good at solving murder mysteries. However, I am solving this as if it was in a Clue book, so one thing I'm doing is assume everyone is telling the truth. Otherwise, this riddle is impossible. Is someone lying? I can only say someone is lying if it clearly contradicts something in the game, like Bugenhagen's death.

I can find no solid evidence for or against Tifa and Barret. There seems to be evidence against Cid and Vincent. You eliminate Yuffie and Red for us (at least in the intrinsic murder of Cloud). And Aeris, Cait Sith, and Cloud don't seem to be suspects.

Hmm, I guess someone killed him. Yuffie took advantage of the situation and stole his materia. Red must have been the one who knocked her off the cliff, of couse assuming he is lying just a little bit. Unfortunately, I'm down to two suspects: Tifa and Barret. It was probably Barret, although Tifa crying I don't think is very good evidence.

The logic is starting to get somewhere now. All I will say is to try and aim for the simplest explanation for what happened, as in the one that requires the least coincidences, and least speculation. I may be wrong, but in my mind there is only really one such instance.

Okay next hint then, think about the time that Red says that he saw Yuffie. Unfortunately you're approaching this riddle in an order unlike the way I would recommend, but that shouldn't cause too much problem.

Red saw her approximately 6 hours earlier, so at the point where Nanaki saw Yuffie, they would have been roughly 6 hours away from camp, so Yuffie had been gone for about 6 hours, at night. :eek: I SEE! :| Wait, no... I don't...

I don't understand why Vinny went with Cid... I doubt he knows much about that stuff. :P But since they were working with radios, maybe he was using them to communicate with Red? I don't know how long Cid and Vinny were gone for, but by him saying "it happened while he was asleep" it makes it seem like he's trying to cover his butt. :\

Vinny and/or Cid used the radio to contact Nanaki at Cosmo Canyon, after Barret told them that Yuffie ran off with Cloud's materia. Red, on his way back, finds Yuffie, and kills her by pushing her off a cliff. He used Bugenhangen as a distraction (:grr:). I say Barret killed Cloud. Red was possibly in on it. Ok, that was random. :lol:

I dunno that sounds pretty good if you ask me, but you didnt so i'll shut up now :p

Okay things are getting quite close, and to be honest it is getting to a point where creativity can cause problems, so I'll again say to go for the possibility which requires the least coincidences, bearing in mind some things CAN'T have happened.

Okay, how about Barret kills Cloud and Yuffie goes in to see him, only to find him cut open like a bag of wet groceries. She takes the opportunity to make off with the Materia. Out in the wilderness, Nanaki comes across Yuffie who tells him that Cloud is dead. Nanaki sees that she has the Materia and believes she did it and pushes her off the cliff. When he returns to camp, he doesn't mention killing Yuffie because they say the Buster Sword was used and that she couldn't have lifted it. The end.

Again, too many coincidences. I'll give my solution to this in a few posts.

Too many coincidences? Then I'm assuming Red and Yuffie's encounter wasn't by chance?

You still haven't said that the part about Bugenhagen was just a mistake, so I'm assuming Red's been lying.

Nanaki and Barret were in on it. Barret kills Cloud while he's asleep, using his Buster Sword. He makes sure Yuffie finds him, knowing that she'll take the oppurtunity to steal his materia. Yuffie runs off with it. In the morning, Barret doesn't know what to say to Tifa, but was the one to notice and point out that Cloud's materia is missing, as a way of distracting the other party members. Red, while "going to get help," waited for Yuffie, and ended pushing her off the cliff. We know he did this because:

1. the party confirmed that no one else had been in the area.

2. 6 hours away, Red was the only one anywhere near Yuffie.

3. No weapon was used, and Nanaki could easily push her off a cliff.

We also know that Red was lying about Bugenhagen. It also doesn't make any sense that Red wouldn't try to stop Yuffie or see what was going on...
You never say whether they found the materia on Yuffie or not... Anyway, the plan was to make Yuffie to appear to be the killer.

When does he die? Red says he went on an adventure and he zipped away. It was NEVER confirmed that he died.
