I'm American and I use loathe.
Most people just say "I don't like you" instead of "I loathe thee"
Loathe - To dislike, To hate, to be in disgust of or intolerant of.
Also, Jammi. Most words aren't of any origin that exists anymore. (Like Loathe being from middle and old english which.. is clearly not modern english.) So really, it's just a matter or people having a large vocab or not. In america though, "Loathe" seems to be an older word so it's just used less here.
That's just pathetic. It's not as strong as loathe, and it makes the person who says it sound like a small child (or posh, whichever you feel like). :rolleyes2
