I slither and i swim.

I bite, i pounce, and i kill.

Lost No. Cait sith 1 was killed in The temple of ancients was a great friend and the temple which is a place of great pride Cait sith is my answer. and for Vincent_The_Vampire the answer is the snake in the sand that you need a chocobo to get past and don't post when it isn't your turn. I did it when i started 2 weeks ago so don't worry just saying

after thinking a bit, I get the feeling that in this riddle pride means more than one, such as a lions pride, but don't all start hinting nanaki or his dad, because they've already been said. In the previous thread LN said that the closest I'd been to solving the answer was saying GI Nattak, but still far off. Maybe what we are looking for is not a character or thing based within the storyline of the game. Maybe it's something that we fight randomly or part of a sidequest? Such as the lady you fight for alexander etc. There are many good answers to this riddle if you think like I do, there's always some reasoning behind every one of them, you just have to think which angle is the right angle to view from.

I've come up with lots and lots of answers for this specific riddle and every one of those answers has been given with a valid reason that fits with the riddle. It just hasn't had the right answer there. It's because of this that the riddle is so hard, but when you find the right angle to view it from then you'll see how easy it is. So keep trying but don't guess, try and give reasoning for every line of the riddle, and don't repeat the same answers, check before you post.

When I posted the riddle in the other thread I gave a hint in the form of another riddle, its in there if ya wanna check, i wont post it yet.

i was thinking of Shiva because of diamonds being a girls best firend, you can summon her in times of need. Can't figure out the pride bit though.

Technically she's part of the storyline so I doubt it would be that. LN said to me on #EoFF that it wasn't part of the storyline :S

Always there in times of need, <---- You gain it from the guy who loved to look at Cid's rocket, he rewards you for your kindness in joining him as others think he is silly for having such a hobby.
In the ruins of great pride, <----- The rocket is no longer there, the guys pride was the rocket, and he felt sad that he no longer had the rocket to look at.
I here and now reside, <---- he just stands there as always. :D
