Do you think Bush deserves to be re-elected?

I'm still taking it as a threat. If someone comes up to me on the street and says, "You deserve to be shot," I'm not going to risk anything. I'm going to defend myself by making sure that this man is not able to shoot me.

I understand why this is not such a big deal for most people, but it is for me. If I so much as include the words "shoot" and "president" in the same sentence, I would be dishonorably discharged for conspiring against the government. I'm sorry for trying to enforce my morals on someone else, but this is something I feel very strongly about.

There's a difference between expressing a dim view of someone and saying that someone deserves to die.

Please don't think that I'm defending Bush in particular. I would say the same thing if he were talking about any other president - Reagan, Clinton, or even Kerry if he is elected.

Bush is a very polarizing individual. It's not suprising that a lot of people have such strong sentiments against him. People either love the guy or hate him. Is that good? That's hard to say. William Wallace was also a man who refused to compromise, and like Bush, was very polarizing, a love/hate sort of character. History remembers him positively, even though most of his contemporaries wished him dead. I think history will remember Bush well, for being uncompromising. He may be a lot of things, but a lame duck isn't one of them. While I disagree with most of Bush's actions, (pretty much everything except the removal of the Taleban and Saddam from power), and I think his public speaking skills leave much to be desired, I can respect him for doing what he thinks is right even if the rest of the world disagrees. If he did otherwise, he'd be a person who's willing to do what he thinks is wrong to pander to popular oppinion, and that is much worse in my oppinion. I elected a leader, not a follower.

Bush doesn't deserve an RPG at his head, he deserves an RPG up his ****.

I don't. I'd defend any democratically-elected (and don't tell me he wasn't, you sore losers) leader, for the simple fact he was ELECTED, and acts under his democratic authority. I wouldn't want someone I voted for harmed, and I would never conspire or attempt to harm someone other people voted for.

This place in no way condones any criminal act, let alone murder. The forum doesn't adopt the statements or opinions of those who post at it. Sheerpile posted a statement you took issue with; you were able to respond to that as per the usual functioning of the board. At no point did anyone threaten harm to President Bush, there was a bare expression of opinion. An opinion that many disagree with, that some understandably find repulsive, but that alone does not justify its censorship. Previously, posts have been edited to remove statements wishing harm upon political leaders. There is a difference between desiring that something happen, and believing that it is deserved.

The Eyes on FF Forums are a law-abiding establishment; posts promoting or inciting everything from racial hatred to the dealing of illegal drugs to assasination have been edited out in the past. It is both untrue and unfair to accuse this place of "condoning assasination" by permitting what Sheerpile said, when no such condoning took place for the reasons outlined above.

its not a joke. florida was rigged, and that gave bush the presidency. had that election not been rigged we might have al gore as a president right now.

Ahem. Bush "won" the election because the supreme court commanded a HALT in the counting of votes in florida, at which point Bush was ahead. Once those had finally been counted, it showed that Al gore would have been President, had democracy not failed on that dark and sad day. Anyways the Supreme Court APPOINTED bush pres. he wasnt elected.

I dont think he should die, though were he to i wont shed a tear, but i think he deserves to be impeached. How many have died for this war that i have been saying and is finally confirmed to be BS. Dont give me ANY 'Oh, it was a cruel regime and we wanted to help the Iraqis.', because thats a lie we didnt care what happened over there before sept. 11 and after is no difference.
