DIFFICULT!! (maybe)
Fell from on high
Many never knew
But the fall created sorrow
for many years to come.
Jenova
Meteor?!
Not Jenova, not Meteor.
Hint: (don't know how to make it invisible), Has nothing to do with Jenova, and is very loosely tied to the Meteor.
is it that water icy thing sephiroth is in when cloud gives him the black Materia and all the other sutff that falls
Nope, has nothing to do with Cloud or Sephiroth.
Its either Cosmo Canyon or the night the Gi Tribe attacked the Canyon
Nope. No correlation to Cosmo Canyon.
How 'bout the northern Cave?
is it the tempel where you get the black Materia?
It has something to do with the Northern Cave. There is one specific name I'm looking for. Possibly a location, or a person, or a weapon.
It doesn't have anything to deal with the Temple of Ancients.
I don't know why i'm saying this but holy?
No, not holy.
Hint #2: It does not include any of the FF7 original party (i.e. Cloud, Tifa, Barrett, etc.)
i'm lost now i can't think of what the hell it is
to save everyone flicking round i'll repost the riddle
Fell from on high
Many never knew
But the fall created sorrow
for many years to come
is it the WEAPONS? no one knew they were ther and they came in a time of sorrow (long since) and are still creating sorrow now
it can't be the wepsons cus they didn't falls
Not weapons.
Hint: It's a person.
a person that fell that has something to do with northern cave. it's not jenova and it has nothing to do with cloud or sephiroth? . . .
. . . u got me :D
I'm not sure if you mean all nine major playable characters, or just the the party memebers at the beginning of the game. I'm also wondering if 'fallen' refers to a fall from grace instead of literal falling.
I'm guessing Vincent.
He's an optional character, hidden away for years, so his fall is largely unknown to most. He has been punishing himself for his perceived sins all this time.
did the ancients fall from the sky? if so, i'm gonna say ancients.
if not, then i guess i'm a doof :D
arise? she fell to her death then in to the water and she had the holy that's links to the black Materia and every one was sad about it and you then see her light and holy in the NC
Fell from on high
Many never knew
But the fall created sorrow
for many years to come.
Reposted riddle, it's not the Ancients, or Vincent, or any of the above.
Hint: This person has long since been gone.
dunno why im saying it but is it zack ?
Owww? is it JENOVA
Ifalna?
No, it isn't Zack, Ifalna, or Jenova.
It's really a minor character that, unless you dig fairly deep, you probably wont even remember them. The first time you hear about them is in Disc 2, and that is the last time you hear about him.
ooh i think i know it but i can't remember his name. is it the guy that died climbing the mountain up to north cave? u meet his climbing buddy at the bottom in the hut.
I'm pretty sure the mans name was Yamski, or something similar to that. He's the man Holzoff talks about when warning you of the dangers of climbing the great cliff at the Northern Glacier.
Enjolras282 is correct! The guy's name is Yamski, the climbing partner of Mr. Holzoff many years back.
Your go.
go on u can hav it :D i think i'm too nice for my opwn gud
Haha well thanks Devils Pheonix, hmm this might be a bit easy but its my 1st one so sorry if its a bit crude...
I am gained in merriment
But used in war
thousands are needed to obtain me
but my usefullness comes to an abrupt end
Its not very poetic or anything, but there you go
EXP Plus materia
Thats not the answer, although i guess that does work with the riddle. You're extremely close, though don't think of materia
is it limit breaks ?
Nope, sorry.
Parasol? You get it by getting the super high score (5000 points I think) at Speed Square in Gold Saucer on Disc 1. It's a weapon that can be equipped by Aeris, but it's useful only as long as she remains in the party.
Yes, thats it. Except its called 'Umbrella' in the international version. But no matter, its you're turn
I've seen it listed both ways. Having never gotten one, I simply guessed (I have the U.S. version BTW).
One journeys in air
Others wait on earth
One resides in water
A victim of fire?
Weapon?
Air - Ultima
Earth - Ruby
Water - Emerald
Although i think My-car-is-faster-than-yours' answer is more likely, there is the possibility it could be the vehicles you use in the game.
Air - The Highwind
Earth - The Buggy
Water - The Tiny Bronco or the Sub.
All of them at some point except the buggy are a victim of 'fire', whether fire from an enemy weapon or the blast of the northern cave exploding.
It's neither Weapons nor the vehicles the party uses.
Enjolras282, your answer was actually closer.
Huge Materia
It's not the huge materia, but it is indirectly related.
Vehicles/places the Huge Materia is found?
Not exactly, but close. I'm looking for a specific type of vehicle here.
Gelnika-type planes?
Nicely done Endless. :)
One journeys in air (the Gelnika that takes off with the huge materia)
Others wait on earth (the Gelnikas on standby)
One resides in water (the crashed underwater Gelnika)
A victim of fire? (it may have caught fire before it crashed)
Your go.
Sorry for the delay, it's been a while since I did one of these.
To bring new life
One must bring death
The exchange of arms varies
As does the result
Is it the Tifa/Scarlet slapfest on the barrel of Sister Ray? :D
Nope, sorry. It's more of a procedure than a single event.
Does it have anything to do with that area of Gold Saucer where you fight a bunch of guys and earn points for that roulette thing?
None at all.
The battles at Fort Condor?
Sorry, nope again. It's describing a part of the procedure, and is something many completionists want to achieve.
The breeding of a Gold Chocobo.
That's pretty close.
Is it talking to the sleeping man in the cave to obtain Mythril to get Aeris' final limit? You have to have fought a certain number of battles, and it varies as he won't always give you the same thing.
That bit's relevant, the rest isn't. feioncastor was very close.Quote:

Nope, you're getting colder. The answer is something quite specific.
Methinks it's hint time.
Mastering a certain materia?
Acquiring the Final Attack materia?
You've had some hints.
HintsIt's part of a procedure/process, is related to breeding a Gold Chocobo, and has something to do with fighting a certian number of battles.
Is it fighting random battles on the Chocobo scratches across the world with Chocobo Lure materia equipped?
Mastery of Chocobo Lure Materia?
I'll say that you have to fight a certain number of battles to unlock each time the Chocobo Sage gives you a hint to breeding Chocobos.
BG-57 and My_car are pretty close, My_car probably moreso.
Obtaining the Carob nut by stealing it off the big red dinosaur thing you fight sometimes on the plains near bone village?
Sorry if that's a stupid answer. I did manage to breed a gold chocobo, in both my games in fact, but that was quite a while ago.
Nope.
How about breeding a special ability Chocobo, not a gold one?
EDIT: I take that answer back
I say, it is "Catching a 'Wonderful?' Chocobo".
Is it the process of fighting enough battles for your chocobo to become mature?
Huzzah!
Sometimes it's hard to see
Such an ethereal fiend
Sometimes it's hard to read
Pages lost in time
Somtimes it's hard to hear
In the halls of the dead
Sometimes it's hard to know
Where to go without a guide
Sometimes it's hard to breathe
When there's no air to find you
...This riddle sucks.
There are two answers.
Morphing the ghost ship in the undersea rector into the guide book, then giving it to the old man in Kalm to obtain the Underwater materia?
Yea.
Someone else can write one, my brains' too numb to think of anything decently challenging right now.
attack of the inanimate
accompanied by their winged allies
defeat causes the fall
and the level to increase
attack of the inanimate Fighing Icicles
accompanied by their winged allies Evil Heads
defeat causes the fall Icicle falls once defeated
and the level to increase The fallen icicles are used as stepping stones to access the next area
ur too good at this :D but the last line is wrong.
the steeping stones are already there but the water level they are in is too low for you to access them. dropping the icicles raises that level so u can use the stones.
but ur rite anyway :D of course u wer ur endless, ur never bloody wrong!
forgotten duties
lost to the world
all alone
yet together as one
each working towards one goal
red and the devil guard the way
I'm looking for two answers here. Good luck.
Is it the red dragon and demons gate you fight in the temple?
That's the last line, but they're not the answers.
Is one of the answers those weird dwarf guys that don't talk wholive in the temple of the ancients?
Yes. Now you need to find the other answer.
Is the other answer the clock that you have to run over to acess the different paths?
Nope.
dwarf and the Catra ?
No. Enjolras282 has already got the first one, so just focus on the second.
Can we have a clue please?
The second answer may not necessarily be related to the first.
Holy?...are you a riddle master endless?
Nope, not Holy. A couple of people have said that, but I don't believe them.
I'm going to say the temple itself, because the temple is designed to keep people from obtaining the black materia.
Nope, not the temple itself.
Is it the strange creatures in the black cloaks hanging around for the Reunion?
The boulders?
No x2. It's got nothing to do with the Temple of the Ancients or the Sephy Clones.
Sapphire WEAPON?
Nope, but it is a weapon.
Emerald WEAPON?
(When you say it is a weapon, do you mean it's a WEAPON or just any old weapon?)
I said weapon, not WEAPON.
i'm going to say silver rifle. vincents ToA weapon which is in the room with the first wierd ToA guy, that aerith gives u an explanation on.
I'll say it again. The second answer has got nothing to do with the TotA.
death penate (or how ever you spell it) Vincent's best wepon?
Nope. The answer's really obvious. Just look for it.
I'll post the riddle again for reference:

New riddle posted here too.
A solo through nine, singles up each go
The first double digit, mutiplies your dough
Consecutively after, each ten gets you double
Many never attempt, saying it's too much trouble
It's a battle that cannot be won by pure strength
And yet one that is lost with the lack of length
The returns can be endless, and ultimately great
Or it can be fruitless, only from your hands escaped
To earn something big, it's worth a try
For a few hundred big ones, what am I?
catreus?
I assume you meant Cactaurs? Either way, no.
An All materia?
All materia is not correct.
I'm sorry guys, that riddle was horribly written. Here's the new version.
A Chocobo race upon which you bet?
Not a Chocobo race.
Is it the Roller Coaster ride at the Speed Square?
Sounds a little like the way you earn points at Battle Square. You have to survive a series of battles and although you can quit after winning any single battle, you only earn big points when you hang on until the later battles.
Not the Chocobo race or the Speed Square Roller Coaster. But it has something to do with the Gold Saucer attractions.
Battle Square? Is that what it's called? Where you fight and the reels spin between each fight, adding a disability to the fight? I think it's called Battle Square.
Not Battle Square.
Is it the way you earn GP on the Basketball Hoop attraction?
Correcto mundo!
A solo through nine, singles up each go (Shots 1-9 = 1 GP)
The first double digit, mutiplies your dough (Shot 10 = x2)
Consecutively after, each ten gets you double (10 after = x2)
Many never attempt, saying it's too much trouble (Obvious)
It's a battle that cannot be won by pure strength (Too much power, you miss)
And yet one that is lost with the lack of length (Too little power, you miss)
The returns can be endless, and ultimately great (You go until you lose)
Or it can be fruitless, only from your hands escaped (You can win nothing)
To earn something big, it's worth a try
For a few hundred big ones, what am I? (Cost 200 gil to try)
Chained to a trivial master
Victim of its own deluge
Take it for granted and it'll be over
Filth is its home and refuge.
This one should be pretty easy.
Aps.
Chained to a trivial master (Don Corneo)
Victim of its own deluge (It's Sewer Tsunami damages it as well)
Take it for granted and it'll be over (It's a boss -- could be a tricky battle)
Filth is its home and refuge. (Lives in the sewers)
Yeah, you're right.
Clogger of shores
These provide great protection
However, they won't come willingly
So you'll have to use coercion
It rhymes, but it's probably really easy.
Beachplugs?
I think you can learn the E.Skill Big Guard from them with Manipulate.
Indeed. Your turn, BG.
Here goes:
The ultimate act of spite
From an abominable foe
For pyrrhic victories
Look no further
Dragon Zombie casting Pandora's Box when it dies?
It's not Pandora's Box. Although it's a good guess.
Diamond WEAPON attacking Midgar? I'm just trying to think of things that have attack when/just before they die.
Not Diamond's attack.
HintLook for the really bad pun. :D
Is it a Marlboro's Bad Breath attack?
Ultima Weapon after you defeat him? When you kill him, he casts Shadow Flare on you.
goin on wot endless sed, is it shizo? both heads cast that explosive attack when they die
It's not Bad Breath, Shadow Flare, or Shizo's attack.
is it the boss you fight at the beginning just before you meet aeris, and just after meeting President Shinra? It explodes at the end, and almost kills Cloud, that's spiteful
No, but an explosion is involved.
AVALANCHE blowing up reactors?
Not the Mako Reactor explosion.
HintThe answer is in this post, although not in the text.
Riddle Repost & hints along with it, so we don't have to flip pages, although I think Lost Number is right.
The ultimate act of spite (kamikaze)
From an abominable foe (A-bomb-inable, bad pun)
For pyrrhic victories (Huge damage to your party member)
Look no further
Hint: The answer is in this post, although not in the text.
Hint: Look for the really bad pun.
And I thought this one was going to be obvious too. :p
Your go, Lost Number.
Me wants a riddle!
If u don't want to do a riddle, lost number, I just thought up a good one...
I got a really good one too.
If anyone else besides me finds this awful, I apologise in advance.
Remember us? Soldiers are we,
Though we die quite easily.
We'll never, ever look the same,
We're waiting to play that grand game.
We stand at the king's gates,
Take us to the palace, we'll be great.
Is it the men in black hoods at the Northern Crater?
Could very well be, but what about this line then?
"We'll never, ever look the same"
Alhough I guess it could refer to the number tattoos.
I think that's it too.
My that refers to the fact that they are tattooed SP? different.
The fourth and fifth lines should be switched, I just wanted to make them rhyme...
Actually, it's more of a Final Fantasy in general riddle than specifically to ff7, I'd just seen them while re-playing 7 and decided to make a riddle about them.
Hmm, maybe Biggs and Wedge?
Correct. Your turn now, Cledarius.
Yay my turn!
Ok *thinks of a riddle*
Here an easy one:
Elements are my strenght
if you're not prepared you die
That should do. If not, more lines will come.
Um... Aerith?
Schizo? He has multiple elements (fire, ice, lightning and earth).
Jep, Twilight Edge's right. Easy as I said right?
Gimme a new riddle!
Here goes nothing!
Nutritious in life
Retarded in strife
I breed offsprings off my own body
Yet there is no nutrition in my body
Should be easy enough.
Er...I forgot what the monster was called, but I'll guess it's those egg shaped monsters outside of Costa del Sol.
Yep it's Grangalan, easy right? Your go, Dragon Mage.
Whoa, i can't believe I got it right!
I was in a war with gods,
I was cast down with my brethren.
In Hades we were doomed to dwell,
Exiled by those in heaven.
Who am I?
This probably isn't very good, but it's the best I could come up with right off the top of my head. I can make a better one if you wish, since I'll have more time.
As a completely wild and random guess, Jenova
Well one Hades was the god of the underworld not a place. Is it Cloud?
Reason: The one winged angel Sephiroth Clouds mortal enemy.
I was in a war with gods, AVALANCHE vs. Shinra
I was cast down with my brethren. Wedge fell from the plate support pillar
In Hades we were doomed to dwell, Slums = underworld
Exiled by those in heaven. Shinra. Upper plate = heaven
So I guess my answer is AVALANCHE/Wedge/the people living in the slums.
All wrong.
But Rantzien, you are on the right track with the Greek thing. I'm using Hades as a place. Keep going.
the "unknown" monsters aboard the sunken gelnika. i know it's probably too obvious to be right cos of the hades thing but heh someone had to say it!!!
Ghost Ship?
sorry wrong.
Is it Titan? The Titans were the gods that ruled Olympus before Zeus. Once he came to power, he threw most of them into Hades.
The Weapons?
They were at war with Jenova (sounds like Jehovah, a name for God), then they were cast down doomed dwell under the world, after the Cetra "exiled" them by rendering them unneccessary by defeating Jenova.
Congrats BG-57! You're correct! Your go.
I knew all those Greek mythology studies would pay off! :p
A puzzling statement
That is only half-true
It stands in the light of day
But fails in deepest night
is it the forgotten city where the fish is cus it's there in the day but gone in the night so you can go down
It's not the forgotten city.
is it the "this guy are sick" statement? it's gramatically incorrect and u can read it anymore after meteor is summoned/reunion (is this the darkness?)
You're getting warmer, but the statement relates to a puzzle.
The black materia puzzels in the temple? (the ones that Cait Sith had to do and made the temple smaller and smaller)
Nope. This puzzle is completely optional.
I have a question and a guess.
Q: Is this puzzle something you can do in the game or is it something you just toss around in your head.
This maybe bad but I'm guessing Cloud or his memories.
It's basically a riddle you can solve in the game.
It's not Cloud or his memories.
I got nothin
Is it in the cave in Da-Chao where there's a big flame blocking your way, when Cloud says "There's no way we're getting past this flame" or something similar?
It's only half-true because you can get past them, as long as you use the Leviathan Scales to put the flame out. So, when it's burning (in the light of day), the statement is correct, but when it's put out (in deepest night), the statement fails.
It's not the flames of Da-Chao.
Think back to biology class in high school.
Photosynthesis... ? :p
Nah, just kidding. But I keep thinking of Ancient Forest. That is the only thing I can remember from the game that's strictly a puzzle, but I can't remember any "statements" there. I'll keep thinking.
is it the riddle u solve for one of the digits for the safe in shinra mansion? the riddle is the place with the most oxygen or something like. (plants and O2, who'da thunk it!?:D) stands in light and not at night cos plants don't photosynthesise at night.
Ah, that's probably it, Devil's phoenix.
I agree
does it have something to do with the Shinra bio-engineering humans?
w00tness!? ok let's see . . .
enduring through the worst
and releasing the pent up fury
coupled with the destruction of hundreds,
and exploration, from sea to show,
discovering the lost, perhaps hidden memories
to unleash the true potential
ok granted this is a little vague but i'll undoubtable drop some hints if endless doesn't come along and solve it in one post :D
Breeding chocobos and finding the materia in the caves?
enduring through the worst Battles, failed breeding attempts, etc.
and releasing the pent up fury Might get angry during the process
coupled with the destruction of hundreds, Need to kill enemies in order to capture chocobos
and exploration, from sea to show, Different types appear in different areas of the map
discovering the lost, perhaps hidden memories Materia is the knowledge/memories of the Ancients. With chocobos you can find new materia in the caves
to unleash the true potential KotR as an example of above materia?
OMG!!! u dint get it in one go!!! *faints*
well ur reasoning is sound but no, that aint rite
It sounds like one of those metaphorical things. Darn if there were seven lines I'd think it was someone's limits. They might be refering to weapons as well.
don't give up just yet, oh and btw . . .
. . . I DEMAND REASONING!!! :d
