I generally find I can easily go without mercs with many of the builds I make in Median, and indeed in normal LOD. Generally I don't like mercs, as due to their suicidal nature and high cost their movements generally dictate the pace of the game rather than your own.Quote:

And yes, I also find mercenaries useless in Median. In vanilla, they were nice due to their ability to tank and stack auras, but now... they just die.
Oh happy day - v 1.10 come to me!!
I used a merc from act to act 3 just to tank everything. But after some certain things..they just completely died. Hatred difficulty too. Now I'm my own tank..Also lost a unique level 10 bow while transferring..damn D2 crashed.
I lost over 300 Crafted and Magic Jewels, 10 -8% Requirements Jewels, 10 of every color of Gem, a Sacred Unique Polearm, multiple runeworded items, and set items because of PlugY (Horadric Cube isn't counted as a specific item, so it erased everything inside once opened).
Waah.
Yeah, never, under any circumstances, place your cube in your stash whilst using Plugy. The two really do not get on.
Yeah, well, I know that NOW. I did a Fautzinville run in Terror, and I made up for what I lost in Gems.
Jewels are an entirely different story. And the unique wasn't that good.

I tried playing with Yummie again through an IP game and it still didn't work. I'm beginning to wonder if I can play Median with others at all period. That will sucky suck. I wanted to play with him and make a purely support Necro just for kicks D:
He replaced Winged Strike with a new skill and I thought my spearazon would finally get some levels, but... not so much with the new one either.

I would say re-install, but it's such a hassle, and there are ways to back-patch. I never bother, though.
I think I remember getting all the proper DLL and patches n such for 1.10 from Phrozen Keep. Then I think I just manually stuck them all in the folder. It's been forever since I ever tried, though, so I may be wrong :yuck:.
I'm getting pwned so much in Act 4. Can't get to River of Flame, so many range attacks.
If in Median, get a shield and a ranged attack of your own. If in vanilla, just get rushed.
I seem to have spawned a map in the Crystalline Passage that cannot be gotten through. The Frozen River is accessible, but the other two passages are behind solid wall that I have walked up and down to no results. Is killing Nihlathak a requirement in Median or something? What the smurf is going on.
You just spawned a really bad map. I haven't killed Nihlathak on any of my characters.
If you're in Hatred Difficulty, just go onto Open Battle.net, create a game, and quit.

LOL I have most of the Ubercharms, with the sole exception of Eternal Bone Pile (which is not meant to be had).
Ohh, I also don't have Level Challenges, Attribute Challenges, and the Sunstone of the Gods (Tran Athula).
Those things are hot potatoes. Scanning around the Median website makes me yearn with the yearning.
But I'll never see anything remotely awesome as I made yet another new character. I noticed most of the YouTubes are Barbarians so I was all "Okay, let's try one 'coz I'm sick of my Lamias dying." Thunder Clap or whatever is sexy. He kills slower than others, but is like...impossible to kill himself.
I'm not sure which stance to do, though. I want to do the stance that gives more damage in trade for receiving it and also maybe the attribute one for when I start to get too hurt. And then I need one of those summons with the passive too. Ugh.
One thing that can be said about the Barb is speed, especially with the new dual weapon addition. He has that passive that makes him so fast! And I thought the zon was where it was at. Pfft.
I liked when I went Wolf Stance. You could probably make use of the Shamanic Stance if you are more reliant on your Guardians, but half the fun of Median is actually being involved in what :skull::skull::skull::skull: goes down.
I upgraded my Druid's Charm completely, and my oh my, is it ever sexy. Expensive to do, though. Even though my Barbarian can do The Idol of Vanity uberquest easily, saving 1000 points is hellish indeed.

And boooo. I just realized with my barbarian I have no way of killing Physical Immunes. I know they're supposed to be few and far between, but I still need something. I'll have to do that poison stance or some such >;O
You wouldn't happen to have an extra one would you? I believe that you can craft as many Attribute Challenge Charms as you want, as long as you fall under the limitations. If not, could you dupe one for me? I don't feel like having to remake my Druid just to account for a minion (Tran Althula is pissing me off).Quote:

It's very sad that I have a million runes sitting across a million characters taking up all my stash space... and yet I'm too lazy to go look at the new runewords. The runes hate me over it. They spelled Su Ck It Lu Nar in one piece of armor of their own accord. It gave me -100 to all stats and +4,000% cost to Malah's wares because she's a bitch.
One of these days I'll make a Magic Missile sceptor-wielding Amazon and name her Sailor Moon.
Barbs were once my favourite class in Median until recent patches started including random PI's in Destruction. The only viable PI solutions are Snake Stance (got to wait for it to work...) and Kraken Stance (which forces your hand when it comes to uberskills). Personally my current love is Unholy Pallies. If you want to know moar about them I took the liberty of writing a guide on them.

I still don't know if I can even play with others at all. I wanted to make a pure support Necro that does Dark Power, Unholy Armor, Nightmare, and the final +% damage Totem too >:C But without somebody else there to kill everything, I cannot do it. WOE IS ME.

I've been doing exactly that with my friend, with him playing as a pure summoner Necro whilst I provide Dark Power/Totems. I would suggest getting the Pew Pew Pew skill so that you don't get too bored. Right now we're in Act 3 and I can kill faster than him purely due to this one skill. :cool:Quote:

This mod hates me - it drops sets, but they're all ones I already have dammit.
The only one I've completed is the useless - for me - Emerald Charmer set.
Well, hang onto them. You never know when a Set will come in handy. For example, my Melee Barbarian is currently using two parts from the Melee Sorceress set, the Gloves and the Helm. Plus, they seem to be able to be traded well on Hamachi for the Phrozen Keep goers, as well as being very useful for any new build you might need equipment for.
I noticed the Withhunter's belt is very nice for my melee barbarian, so I agree that they do have their uses. It's just that the Charmer set seems to be EVERYWHERE.
I'm a little curious: in general, are Sacred Uniques superior than Sets, or is it the other way around. They both have max sockets, but Set items recieve bonuses from being paired with other Set items. So, in a sense, it seems that Set items are capable of recieving two bonuses (though one is preset), whereas Uniques can only recieve the bonuses from runes/jewels/gems/skulls.
I think Sets are more valuable and useful, but some of these Sacred Uniques I've found are pretty sexy, I must say.
Uniques are great, but they stand alone. Sets, however, have specific uses that don't always cater to your needs. Uniques can be used in tandem with the other, but don't have any synergy bonus. But non-Sacred Uniques can be sacrificed from old (6) Sets, and upped freely, without a deteriment to sockets.
Uniques are probably harder to find, since Fauztinville is harder than Kurast.
EDIT: Someone find me a Bul Kathos' Voice Sacred Avenger Guard. It goes great with my Nimmenjuushin.
I have the super gay Thunderdome Horned Helm, but no Bul Kathos...

Were you guys ever able to complete all of the quests in both Diablo II and Median? Vanilla was easy - of course - but I still haven't been able to fully complete all of Median. But I likely won't, as Alpha Centuari has once more taken a hold of me.

Wow, we made it through a year, surprisingly enough.
Not sure if there's anything that can be said that we haven't already said. We've had our ups, our downs, our disconnects, and our lag-fests. Epic finds. Epic fail. Either way, I'm proud to have led this community (let's face it, it's true) through our mis-adventures, and we were given a chance to bond with and get to know those who might not have spoken to or associated with otherwise.
I love this game, but things are not meant to last forever. Oddly enough, I still play on Median, and plan to get Hellgate: London in the near future. Ohh well, probably sounds like a sod-fest by now.
Since only Tavrobel plays anymore, I'd better close it.
But if you want to open a new one, do so. Maybe this time I'll seriously get around to playing that game again.
