I liked Everton's socks in that final (black and blue stripes) , and I wish they would wear them forevermore. Still, Channel 5's Italian football thing on Sunday (John Barnes, colour commentator, called Adriano - not even on the bench! - fat, in the mother of all ironies) shows that Inter wear them, so I am satisfied.
That really lacked cohesion, didn't it?
Ole. :(
Ole Ole, to a United LEGEND. Thanks for everything Solskjaer! The season of 98/99 doesn't go unnoticed. :ty:
What a king, gutted that he's calling it a day.
Anyone who hates Ole deserves a slapping. Nicest bloke to play football.
Second nicest. Never seen a player do anything like that before. Was good to hear the Kop sing his song last night, probably louder than they sang YNWA.
Third nicest at best.
Jay Tabb now of coventry, that guy is a true legend.
Paulo is better than every other football player ever at anything you could care to mention.
I'm hoping ronaldinio comes to chelsea. :)
While it would be great to see Ronaldinho playing in England, i cant see why he would want to leave Barca.
Also, i am shocked to see Martin Allen has left Leicester after only three games!
Ronaldinho + long ball team = oh boy.
EDIT: Champions League draw.
Pot 1
AC Milan
Barcelona
Liverpool
Inter Milan
Arsenal
Real Madrid
Chelsea
Manchester United
Pot 2
Valencia
Lyon
Porto
Sevilla/AEK Athens
PSV Eindhoven
Roma
Benfica
Werder Bremen
Pot 3

Stuttgart
Steaua Bucharest
CSKA Moscow
Sporting Lisbon
Lazio
Marseille
Pot 4
Rangers
Shakhtar Donetsk
Besiktas
Olympiakos
Dynamo Kiev
Fenerbache
Slavia Prague
Rosenborg
I believe this is ordered based on their UEFA seeding. A poor Champions League campaign for Man United or Chelsea could see them being dropped into Pot 2 for next season. Their coefficients are 99.6, and Valencia's is 99.4.
Pot 3 looks a lot stronger than usual. Do not underestimate Stuttgart, Steaua Bucharest or CSKA Moscow, and Pot 4 has several eastern European countries, making travel difficult. Here's hoping we get Rangers or Rosenborg, based on that and that alone.
EDIT2:
Juventus defender Jean Alain Boumsong is attracting interest from Liverpool.
Tuttosport says Liverpool have made a late move for the Frenchman, who has been made available by Juve this summer.
Reds boss Rafa Benitez needs to find cover after losing Jamie Carragher to a rib injury and selling Gabriel Paletta to Boca Juniors.
I literally yelled when I read this. It's obviously bull:skull::skull::skull::skull: as it comes from tribal football, but jesus christ you do not even JOKE about this sort of thing. It's bad enough reading us being linked with Julio Baptista without this. Thank smurf Rafa came out and said this today: "We were checking some options for the first team squad yesterday, but it's very difficult to find the right players this late. I don't think we will be signing anyone now."
Actually, only United are really under threat. Valencia and United both reached the quarterfinals of the 2002/03 season, so they are the most likely to drop valuable points. Chelsea, meanwhile, went out on the first round of the UEFA Cup in that season so I'm pretty sure that whatever they do they'll still be in the top eight.
