You thought reaing the Harry Potter books first ruined the movies?
A bit of an alternative preference, I'd say! Many people feel the opposite when it comes to books vs. movies, but to each their own.
If you thought the first movie was bad because it didn't follow some things in the book don't watch any of the other movies. Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets are the most loyal to the source material.

The teaser for Tyrion feels like a first-person video game in the beginning there.
Yeah, the teasers were weird.
Also, poor Rickon. :(
Can't wait for this. My favourite show and series on earth. Read the books several times so I know everything that happens, but it's so exciting to see everything come to life.

Oh my God, I sound like Shorty.
I don't really have a preference either way. When I'm talking to American exclusively, I say Sorcerer's Stone. When I'm talking to mixed crowds (like on my Facebook) I usually do a 'Sorcerer's Stone/Philosopher's Stone'. And when I'm talking to exclusively British people, I will generally say Philosopher's Stone.
I don't see why it has to be a big deal.
