EDIT: I just remembered my stupidity. When I was younger, my sisters always said "lithp" when describing people with a lisp ("I'th got a lithp"). I didn't know they were joking, and only when I was thirteen did I find out it's called a lisp, not a lithp.
For some reason, I always thought Johnny Depp was French. I used to tell people this, and I thought they were pretty dumb for not knowing about his nationality.

I tend to substitute words for humorous reasons. One of my favorites is renaming any plural noun as people.
"Look at all those people."
I said that while playing Guitar Hero II and looking at the oncoming slew of notes on the fretboard.
"wth, mom your poobs look berky.....wait....."
