I keep forgetting my resolution to start taking money out of the bank in $2. Those things are sweet.

As someone who's used both bills and coins for a single unit of a currency denomination, I recommend you keep dollar bills. Too many coins really suck.

Yeah coins suck, I have like 50 1p and 2p coins in my purse, and I can never get rid of them. :(

-coins don't fit in wallets
-lots of coins are more of a bother to carry around than lots of bills (in fact, lots of bills are no bother, since they all go in the wallet)

By any standard of ease and comfort, bills are superior. These new dollar coins will be loved by collectors and people who like anything new as a novelty, but will not catch on in regular use.

And yeah, also, what Wes said. Coins are just irritating bastards, I don't like carrying more than a half dozen around 'cause my wallet starts bulging like a pus-filled Scouser.

And I thank the gods on Mount Olympus that I am neither a scouser nor an American every day.

I keep any loose change I acquire in my pocket and it does the job well enough. I dislike having to fumble through the $1 bills to find the bills which are actually worth something.

Americans are stubborn and pretty ruthless bout change ( the coin type and the altering kind) and carrying it around, though i must say, Canadians have complete ease using the Loons and Toonies :D yay canadians.


It was thought nice to see they atleast tried to accomadate, with the gold dollar coin/pop machines though:)

As coins can be heavier, they are also cheaper for a government to make. Bills on an average have what? A life span of 25 years? Coins can last centuries. As much as I find coins somewhat cumbersome I like Loonies and Toonies. They rock. Plus if you forget coins in your pocket, they can easily survive the wash.

I hate how they keep trying to force these things on us. Ugh. I like my paper money.

smurf the dollar coin. I think we just need to start using 2 dollar bills more. That would reduce the need for 1 dollar bills. Instead of 4 singles you get 2 doubles. 3 Singles becomes a double and a single. Less bills to carry around and organize is always a plus.
