doesn't matter. I prefer Meltdown/Merton (depending on version) with fire absorbing equipment. Plus if you have gem box/thamasa soul you can use osmose then cast the spell. I love using Quick then osmose, then dominating with Meltdown or something. It's just so much fun wiping them out. BUT, that's my #6 character. I have Cyan, Sabin, Edgar, Locke, and Shadow (as Kappa) as my first 5, then Relm as my main magic caster!
(never thought I'd do that but after using her I figured she was best for pure magic out of everyone in the game. I mean sketch is horrible and control is worse, and Celes and Terra can get good weapons to attack, plus Strago will use Lore just cause)

Is there any special way to find Deathgaze easily?

Anyways, through the magical ability of Imp-armor spell abosrbtion of water I defeated Leviathan. Ya, got my favorite Summon.

Also where is a place to get a lot of AP? Need it for Ultima :D

Edit: Got Odin and defeated the Blue dragon and yesterday defeated the Holy Dragon. Four more dragons to find pre-Kefka's Tower

The desert below Miranda has Cactaurs for 10 AP. They also give 0 exp and 10,000 gold. So you can go there to learn spells, and not waste level bonuses. Just run from the other enemy if you don't want to gain levels.

If you havent yet, head to the dinosaur's forest and kill some guys there...you want at least one Economizer or whatever they are called now too help with stuff...

Have you unlocked the Curse Shield? The shiled obtained from that is very good for blocking magic and is a good overall shield.

Finally, because Mog is the greatest character of all time, go pick up a snow muffler/ or whatever it is called now...It will practically make Mog invincable due to its massive defense boost

celestriad = economizer
snow scarf = snow muffler

and the Paladin shield is by far the best shield in the game. Equip it on someone while learning magic and leveling in the Dino forest, and you'll uncurse it in no time. I uncursed mine a little after I got my first character to 99... that was a long time ago now considering I almost have my 6th to 99.

personally, on lower levels I have a little trick I use. If you have a character do an attack(preferably killing blow) with a decent length attack animation, and as soon as they start it, you begin to run. When they finish the attack the other members will run and leave that person alone, giving them all the EXP. This is really useful when you have all low characters and need them all to damage. But later I just do it solo because it's easier to track esper bonuses and feels faster.

So what six espers am I missing? I only know that I am missing Diablos.

Odin becomes Raiden back at the castle by inspecting the statue.
Zona seeker you get at the auction house
Midgardsormr you should get when you get Umaro, by inspecting the bone statue he has there.
Alexander you get from going to Doma with Cyan in the party, and doing that whole quest, then going to the throne room.

I think that's it besides Diablos

Whoops, forgot a row. So I choose Odin or Raiden, but can't get both and I choose Raiden, correct?

Still need Zona Seeker, Diablos, and some other people I think.

well it use to be Raiden was the only way to learn Quick, but now Gilgamesh teaches it too... so I guess it's your choice. Odin doesn't teach anything special though, just Meteor at a rate of x1 while Crusader teaches it at x10. Better to get Raiden and teach two people Quick at the same time... it is my personal favorite spell.
