NFL Draft 2007

Please, Corey Dillon was way more of a locker room cancer in Cincinnati than Moss was at Oakland. Now that Moss isn't the face of the franchise, he can just calm down and play. Just like Dillon became "another one of the guys" on the Patriots roster, I'm sure Moss will do the same thing. If anything those other receivers will be psyched to have so much 1-on-1 coverage with Moss running deep routes and taking double coverages.

Moss in the physical for Green Bay and New England earlier in the offseason ran a 4.29 40. He still has all the athletic gifts, he just needs that winning attitude back in his system. And a team like the Patriots will provide that in full. I guarantee you that Moss won't start any problems playing for such a contender.

As for the Raiders, I think they're going in the right direction. Watch out for RB Michael Bush. With LaMont Jordan struggling, this kid has the potential to step up big. I can't believe he fell all the way to the 4th round, I thought he would go 2nd.

A mighty risky corps, though. Stallworth has a penchant for missing a bunch of time with hamstring injuries (just look at last year), and Moss is obviously a risk with his character issues.

I'm pretty happy with the way things went for the 49ers. I didn't know much about Patrick Willis before the draft, but Mike Nolan apparently worked extensively with him during the Senior Bowl, going so far as to compare him to a young Ray Lewis. I'm down with that. Trading back up into the first round to get Joe Staley was a bit surprising to me, but he can't be any worse than Kwame Harris.

Here's another question for you guys: Did your college team get any guys drafted? Fresno State had four... Marcus McCauley (CB) went to Minnesota in the third round, Paul Williams (WR) went to Tennessee in the third, Dwayne Wright (RB) went to Buffalo in the fourth and Chris Denman (OT) went to Tampa Bay in the seventh. Joe Fernandez also signed as a free agent with Seattle, and Roshon Vercher signed with Arizona.

Baylor had two guys drafted. Daniel Sepulveda, 2-time Ray Guy Award winner, and possibly the best punter in the history of college football (no one else has won the Ray Guy Award twice, and he's the only three-time All-American punter in the history of college football), was drafted in the 4th round by Pittsburgh.

CJ Wilson, cornerback, was drafted in the 7th round by Carolina. Good size (6'1", 195), but poor speed (4.62) and mechanics. Probably a dimeback or a backup safety, possible special teams player.

Anthony Arline (CB/FS, 6'1", 200) will probably get signed in the coming days. Great week of workouts and good Hula Bowl. Actually has a ton more upside than Wilson does, and SI predicted that he'd go in the fourth round.

Expect him to retire at the end of this coming season, unless of course he has more gas in his tank than we thought. When the Cheeseheads were on the clock in the first round, guess who was still sitting in that Green Room, waiting to be picked? That's right! Brady Quinn.

Had the Cheeseheads grabbed Brady Quinn with their draft pick, not only would they have Favre's successor in their hands ahead of schedule, but Cheeseheads linebacker A.J. Hawk would certainly be a happy camper. As it turns out, had Quinn been drafted by the Packers, Hawk would have a relative on his team; Hawk is married to Quinn's sister, and she would've had to root for just a single NFL team, instead of having her loyalties split yet again.

UVM doesn't have football but the Bears drafted a UNH player and signed a free agent from UNH. Also the Packers may aquire from the redskins a Vermont player from UNH.

What does any of what you said have to do with them drafting an injury prone player?

I thought Aaron Rogers was supposed to be the successor to Favre.
