they only eat dead flesh due to the enzymes they use to break down said food of choice. as such, maggots grown clean are used by doctors to clean wounds that are prone to infection.
also i've seen maggots yes. rotten dead animals are usually host to them and other creepy crawlies.
-
I don't understand how a human could grow them.
-
Yeah, I've used 'em as fishing bait.

I didn't know there were 5 users named Sargeant Hartman.

I caught a glimpse before I backed away quickly

Maggots actually only eat rotting flesh so far as I know therefore they can be used medicinally to eat away corrupted flesh in a wound. Of course this would not mean I'd like that and whilst I've eaten African Giant Ants, Crocodile, Ostritch, Bison and Scorpions (and some others too but not listing all of them here) I've not yet had maggots, though I'm tempted to have maggots some time soon, best to make sure Ewa will still kiss me (even after scrubbing my teeth/tongue/rinsing with mouthwash) first though.

Me and the Sarg both have a real fondness for maggots

I've seen maggots.
On the subject of disgusting food - I once bit into an apple and a HUGE BLACK BEETLE crawled out. About half the length of your little finger. I felt like throwing up. I hurled the apple out of the window and it flew across the street. It was absolutely disgusting, I'd never seen a bug like it.
-
Maggots don't disgust me; maggots on food I am about to eat and/or have already started to eat, that is a different story.
-
Yes. They look so ... disgusting! The thought makes me shiver! xD

I work in a factory making petfood and any damaged cans that have been left lying around for a bit get really maggoty. Cleaning up the other day i picked up a can and it just fell apart in my hand covering me in the little f***ers.
