I know it's not how you pronounce it, but I always just called it Balm.
When I first got the game, I pronounced it buh LAM.
After playing it for a few years, I began to realize it's more likely it was pronounced BAL uhm. I'm still not 100% sure, but hey. It's not like it really matters all that much. It's just a game.
B'laum
I just started a new game on this, and I was actually wondering the exact same myself. I've always used "BAA-lum" for whatever reason, but now I think "ba-LAMB" makes more sense.
Lum, lam, not a big difference. There is a FF history film out there released by Square and I believe the announcer says "This game follows the story of Squall in Balamb Garden...etc"
Find it on youtube. See how he says it. Cease this jib jab.
EDIT: YouTube - Final Fantasy History Part Three
He says: Bah (as in bomb) - lum (as in lumber)
i bet you pronounce it with a Q somewhere in it :)
you know how squaresoft is.. :P
I pronounce it BAL-um, like Balham* in London. :)
*Note: not bal-HAM; in England most places ending in -ham (Birmingham or Buckingham, for example) are pronounced '-um' at the end, not '-ham'
Why did I feel the need to explain that?
It's like Blam, with an extra a. BA LAM!
I think I got it now :Oo:
i always think of it as
bal-amb , bal said as ball and amb said as amb.itious
Bah-lum Gahr-den.
