its obvious that the 360 is the way to go for multiplayer games, come on look at the facts, 360 has Halo 3, Guitar Heroes 2 & 3, Rock Band, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance(if you like marvel), Lord Of The Rings(if you like strategy), Call of Duty(3 & 4). the only game that i can think of for the PS3 is Resistance, besides, the 360 has dozens of fun games in the arcade

Get a Japanese X360 so you guys can play DoDonpachi: Daioujou and Ketsui together in a couple months.

I think the following chart will explain all
-
The only bit of that I don't get is the "If you don't like video games, you should get a console" bit. :p
-
Wii has Smash Bros. Brawl. That's like the offline multiplayer game.
-
I believe the 360 just had, or is soon going to have, a rather massive price cut in Europe. Given its year head start, as well as the variety of fun and affordable multiplayer games on Xbox Live arcade, I think it would be the best console for you to purchase.
-
You should probably get a Wii if you don't want to go online (jesus lord, why!).
Just to clarify, Call of Duty 4 allows up to 4 player co-op splitscreen iirc, just not online.
But if you ever plan on online play, even just as something to do if the girlfriend is in the kitchen (which is of course, her rightful place), the PS3 is better.
-
What would really be best in this situation would be to skim through the games for each system and decide based on that.
-
I'd say a Wii. You have:
- Wii Sports (comes with the console)
- Rayman: Raving Rabbids (great multiplayer minigames)
- Super Smash Bros. Brawl (great fighting multiplayer + two-player coop single player campaign + a level editor + online)
- Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles (lightgun, coop)
- Call of Duty 3 (online split-screen multiplayer)
- Medal of Honor Heroes 2 (online up to 32 players, also lightgun style play for certain sections, not sure about coop though)
The Wii is pretty great as multiplayer console if you're both going to be in the same room. Most coop games I can think of for the 360 are on the PC anyway so I can't make much of a case for that.
-
^Sadly, Medal of Honor Heroes 2 doesn't have any co-op. :( But I think the Light-Gun play you're talking about is the Arcade Mode. It turns the entire Single Player mode into a Light-Gun game.
-
I won't be going for a Wii. None of the games appeal to me on any level. While they are co-op a lot of the time, they tend to be lacking in comparison with the huge games on the 360/PS3.
I think I've made my decision on what I'll get at some point. The only downside is that I've discovered that there is already a "Loony BOB" on Xbox Live. :( And, from my research, I've found that I simply won't be able to get that gamertag. Apparently there is no way, outside of buying his account off him or something, which is not a route I'd want to take. Gutted. But eh. Such is life.
-
Make yours Loony B0B instead. :p
Or, better yet, just spell BoB backwards.
-
B0B would be a travesty. I already have an alternative name cooked up that I can live with, although I'm still gutted (I'm still to this day getting over that I can't use Loony BoB on AIM, and I registered on AIM about 5-7 years ago!).
-
In that case, use Toony BoB.
