About the remake of Final Fantasy VII

No, people who don't like FFVII are not trolls, and they don't go out of their way to point out how horrible the game was-- they're as entitled to their opinion as you are.

And I never brought up any website like it's a god. I only mentioned /b/ because that's where one-sided rants like that belong.

More like what's the point of a remake if it's just going to be the exact same game you already played? So you can spend an extra $50-$60 on prettier graphics?

Because people can't have varying opinions about a game? FFVII isn't a perfect game, and compared to games today it's quite bad. The graphics have aged horribly, and the controls are clunky and tedious.
That said, it's surprising to me how so far SE has avoided releasing a FFVII remake. They've released so a handful of side games, but how they can't realize that and FFVII remake would sell like hotcakes (and probably convince quite a few people on the fence about purchasing a PS3) is beyond me.
