Yes! Part of the problem with FFXI was that you couldn't even choose your own server. They've changed that now so hopefully from the start we can choose a specific server for FFXIV. And then we'll have fun times!Quote:

I hope they allow you to just select your server in FFXIV like they do with every other MMO out there.
At first, FFXI had word passes you could buy in-game and give the invitation code to your friend to get on your server.
Do they do that from the onset on every other MMO? If so, do they simply cap the amount of people who can join that server or something? If so for that as well, then are there still options for some to transfer to other servers to 'free up space' on the server for more friends to join later on? *curious*
Hmm. I am unsure about other MMO's and how they deal with it.
However, for FFXI they've had quite a few server mitigations where you can volunteer to change servers (usually you get your friends to come with you).
