Names?

I usually go by the defaults nowadays, but I did play one game several years ago with other names:

Zidane = Nadim
Vivi = Tsu
Garnet = Duariel


... and those are the only ones I remember. Coming up with names can be fun.

Zidane - Soljin
Vivi - IXVI
Garnet - Jessica/Jesse
Eiko - Zyk.
Amarant - Dirk
Steiner - Ruvyn
Freya - ....TBA, i forgot...

Any combination where a main character get's the name of someone to do with them could make a lot of scenes funny, such as changing Zidane's name to Kuja or Quina's name to Quale.

Ugh yeah, I always change Dagger also. I remember changing Vivi's name to Poe my first time around too. :D Only names I never change are Freya and Quina, those are pretty good.

OH! I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT QUINA, LMAO. Well, I named Quina - Tu'Quai. I named amarant after my brother because that's his favorite.

Never ever ever change the names. I think it's something that's outlasted its usefulness as RPG's have actually matured into meaningful stories instead of cliche generic takes on high fantasy.

Ahhahaha. I remember all too well what I named the characters.

Zidane - Lysol
Garnet/Dagger - Febreze
Vivi - 409 (I hadn't intended it to be so similar to the BMs at the time. It was TOTALLY a surprise and a laugh for me the first time around.)
Quina - Tilex
Steiner - Oust
Eiko - Windex
Amarant - (the flaming) Pine-Sol
