If that fails, make sex jokes whenever possible. It doesn't work for everybody though, so use caution. I have mastered this and I heard when I graduated high school one of my friends tried to follow in my footsteps and it wasn't working. Here is a good example:
My best friend was at my house, and mom wanted our help creating a username on some website. She said it might as well be random and so my friend looked at my deodorant and said "Soft & Dry." About a whole minute of uncontrollable laughter.

Everyone knows the best way to blag being funny is to make nonsensical statements like PENGUINS ON FIRE LOL and usage of the words CUSTARD and CHEESE
