That Rinoa in space bit did my head in. I was annoyed by the implications as well

Wow, a sad ending in Final Fantasy? The lovebirds DON'T live happily ever after? Geez, this is a turning point in the series. I actually like it. Very poignant and mature.
2 years later: FFX-2. Yuna saves Tidus by running around half-dressed doing random crap.
