Am I really the only one...(Spoilers at the end of disc 1)

It got to me because I was young and really impressable.

In hindsight I can see that Aeris was actually a pretty unrealistic character and that makes me not really care.

Is it weird that it's the saddest/greatest scene I ever saw? The first time I played it I was blown away. And then Cloud's speech just after, finally letting out all the emotion we didn't see in all the 1st disc. The "She'll never laugh, never cry, never feel" speech. Ya I was like: "Oh Sephie...I'm gonna kill the smurf out of you, buddy."

Upon thinking about this. . .I think it would have had more impact if - no this isn't saying they should remake it, nor that it was at all possible then - they had used voice actors :D though of course the whole game would..but still; Aerith's dying scream?

The point Omni-Odin made about Cloud's speech afterwards also made me think this. I mean; I read the words on screen and - call me cold and heartless - but it didn't really stir me. If it'd been Stevey-boy who'd spoken it, I would probably have been all :( about it.

But, at the same time, I would be more likely to feel sorry for Cloud than Aerith. Yes, I feel that way now. Yes, I'm a Cloud fangirl.

Please forgive me for not replying to everyone - I simply couldn't think of anything to say.

I agree with this one. I thought it was very well handled, I rate it up there as well. Yes, X's ending also had emotion for me.

Also, how the hell did Aeris "force her way" into the party? I accept that you don't like her, but I would like you to explain this. She was taken home, then captured then saved, by then she is friends with the rest of the party - how did she force her way in?

It's not weird at all - I think I felt the exact same thing the whole scene was well "acted" for want of a better word. I also loved how the Aeris' Theme playing throughout the whole thing - despite being a character theme, this is only the second time you hear it.

Hmmm... This where you and I are different. When I read something, I feel it. I can see the emotion there, and I could "hear" the whole scene as I read it.

Strangley, I felt that the inclusion of voices in FF games, actually took away some of the emotion - I don't know why, but it just "flattened" the characters for me...

However, I think it's only human to hate some of the FF characters.. Or maybe THE reason I actually like the game, how boring would it be if I always liked the characters?

Perhaps that's because after you went all the trouble of saving them from the boss, they give you a Lute! Not a magic sword, no, a lute! I'd rather have the cash.

No, I mean at the parts of the game when you're forced to have her in your party. I never liked using her, partially because I disliked her character and also because I didn't like using her in battle, so when the game made me use her character I hated it. Thus her death meant she wouldn't be mandatory ever again.
