Really you shouldn't base your beard on gaming characters, take a look at different beards in real life photos and more importantly look at how your stubble grows on your own face in a mirror. A "short" beard should be trimmed to highlight and strengthen your jaw line not subdue it or mask it because if you do that then it'll make your face look fatter rather than more defined.

I'm not basing my beard on a gaming character. I'm just growing a beard (four weeks now) and it got me thinking about game characters. But thanks for the advice!
