A classic villain is one that is just evil in direct contrast to the protagonist. He toys with Clarisse, although he does not necessarily oppose her in this one anyway. Like most words, villain has more than one meaning. Villain - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster DictionaryQuote:

Apart from dominating every scene he was (and yes, he had relatively little screentime, but when he was on, he was the centre of things) and escaping by brutally murdering one or two people in a fantastic scene. I think your memory needs work if you think that counts as 'diddly squat'. Also considering The Silence of the Lambs was a big hit, surely 'pompous film critics' (I'm struggling not to roll my eyes here) wouldn't have liked it much =PQuote:
