Misses and Hits for me. More misses, great hits though <3! They seem to be going with an entire standalone no-crossover gen line-up, is this confirmed?

I just realised how awesome Aakeosu is going to be with a Choice Band.
140 base-Attack, 110 base-Speed, Rock-Type and learns Head Smash (Rock-move with 150 base-Power).
150 + 50% type-bonus = 225 Base Power with a potential 416 Attack + Choice Band = freaking insane damage.
And 110 speed makes it outspeed almost every other powerful offensive pokemon. Only drawback is the recoil from Rock Smash, but that's a minor issue when you'll be able to OHKO like 9/10 of every pokemon ever.
I actually find the 5th generation very appealing. With small exceptions (Victini is just weird), I think all the Pokemon are very imaginative. And Emboar! Damn, I'm going for the fire starter again, with no regrets. I must say it's the best-designed fire starter since Cyndaquil's evolution family... I hate, however, the fact that it is part fighting again... I mean, grass and water get interesting combinations so why does every smurfing fire starter since Blaziken have to be fire/fighting?
The Water starter is the most appealing for me, by far. Not just because of the design though.
Semi-bulky Water with decent attack that learns Swords Dance, Aqua Jet and Megahorn? Yeah, that's nice.
Grassknot combined with its good Special Attack should make it a great choice for dealing with other Bulky Waters too. The only great move that really seem to be missing is Ice Beam.
...actually, scrap that. If the new ability "Perversity" reverses self-inflicted status modifications as well, then I'll totally go for the Grass-starter. At first I thought the Grass-starter was the lamest of them all. But with this ability, it becomes sooo awesome. Leaf Storm that increases your Special Attack further instead of decreasing it is no joke. And Glare (which it can learn) now has 90 accuracy, making it much more worthwhile.
...and yeah, I'm not disappointed either. But since I care more about possible pokemons to use for a competitive tournament-worthy team than "catching them all", it only takes a couple of cool/interesting "powerful enough" pokemons to please me. =P
And B/W certainly got some of those.
Edit:
Old pokemons now have the possibility of learning entierly new abilities. Ditto can apparently get "Auto-Transform" (transforming upon switching in), which means it might actually be quite useable in battle now.
Other interesting abilities learned by previous gen pokemons includes Espeon learning "Magic Coat" which reflects most non-attack moves back at the opponent upon switching in, and Dragonite learning some ability that halves damage taken as long as its HP is full (in other words, first hit will only deal half damage, making it able to survive an Ice attack or opposing dragon's Outrage etc as long as it has taken no prior damage.)
Some major changes has also been done to certain moves, like "Thrash and Petal Dance" now have 120 Base Power just like Outrage, and Glare now has 90 Accuracy rather than 75 (my personal favourite change). Full list of move-changes can be found here: http://www.serebii.net/blackwhite/oldattacks.shtml
Something like Chirachiino interests me... not outstanding but useful
Let's break it down!

Normal type,
Phys attack base of 95 (just below top 100), speed of 115 (top 25)... PS: These numbers aren't exact yet, they're estimates.
Can learn technician (for the 50% damage boost on less than 60 dmg attacks), as well as the now boosted physical type Bullet Seed, Rock Blast, Technician to 37 damage each hit, chance at 185 damage (I believe only self-destruct and explosion are more powerful than that).
PLUS Sweep Slap is a normal version of the same thing which gets the STAB, meaning... what? 55 each hit? chance at 275 damage... which would be even stronger than explosion....
Granted, their chance based, but still, very strong if it works, even just two hits from them will be a decent 74(BS, RB) or 110(SS) damage.
Strong against
Ground, Water, Rock, Bug, Fire, Flying, Ice
with Bullet Seed and Rock Blast moves
the Normal Sweep Slap is a good cover for everything except ghost, rock, steel (but grass is strong on rock)
I'd probably put Wake Up Slap (60 damage fighting to 90) for Steel types
Ghost types aren't a worry as their attacks don't damage normal type.
Plus only weak to fighting cause it's normal type.
Cheer Up is another option for the 4th slot, for the attack boost.
Protect is another option, to help due to the sub-par defenses.
Or Dream World skill for the ability Skill Link which ensures these multi-hit moves hit 5 times, equaling 125 damage anyways, everytime. (I still prefer the technician one)
THE JACKEL
I'm going to have a team of unevolved's if anything. A lot of guys I like have evolved forms that make me unhappy.
