Waiters and waitresses also get paid much less than minimum wage, and that fact is reflected in food prices. Do delivery people get paid less than minimum wage? I honestly don't know. But I definitely tip my pizza delivery guy on the rare occasion I don't just pick it up.
EDIT: to Bunny.
I don't order pizza. I live two blocks away. Sorry! ;_;

*summons Spaceman Spiff*
I already tip, in case you didn't catch that.
Also, I think I stomped on a Spaceman Spiff on Halo: Reach.
Tipping is a :bou::bou::bou::bou:ty practice. I mean, I do it, but it's :bou::bou::bou::bou:ty.
Before I became a manager at my store I started out as a delivery driver and tbh I never did expect the people I was delivering to to tip me, sure I was happy when someone did but if they didn't I still did my same service.
On the flip side what did really piss me off is when you get customers on the phone who think they have a right to walk all over you because your doing a food related service, I have been in quite a few different retail jobs and never before have I met a more vicious bunch of people if their pizza was 5 minutes late, I would however always remain calm and civil to them.
I tip. And not because I have black guilt. I'm just polite.
And for Lols:
Here's a tip, GET A REAL JOB!!!
XD...lol, I love that...
Hm, so we're being robbed the delivery charge. How much would it hurt the pizza business if we stopped the whole delivery thing? That would end the debate right there. Everyone goes and gets their pizza. Hmph
Considering the majority of businesses who offer delivery thrive on the laziness of individuals? I'd say it would smurf over quite a few of said businesses while at the same time robbing high school dropouts of lucrative careers as a food delivery specialist.
Do you wanna be that person, Vyk? Really?
People drive to McDonald's. It doesn't hurt them any. But then again, I've got two pizza places like 3 minutes away. And there's like a dozen within ten minutes. Going to get my pizza won't kill me
I hate it when I go to get carry out and there is a line for tipping on my receipt. I feel bad for these people that want a tip. But that's why you get carry out, so you don't have to tip (and it's usally faster than the delivery guy)
Yea but thats because mcdonalds is pretty much everywhere.
I usually dont get pizza delivered (i go to the place to pick it up) but if I do get delivery I just round up to the nearest note and let them keep the change.
But it becomes a bit confusing since to my knowledge tipping waiters isnt customary in Aus and im not sure if delivery is any different.
Generally I round up to the nearest 5 unless that's less than 2 dollars away. In which case I'd throw in a couple of ones. But I think I was raised to tip pizza delivery generously
I tip people who wait on me and deliver to me. I do not tip at drive-through windows, because that's BS.
I worked at Sonic when I was a teenager, and although it's not driving five miles to deliver someone a pizza, if I'm balancing your fifty dollar meal on skates to feed your Denali full of screaming brats, you'd damn well better tip me. Or else.
