Slash All takes precedence over 4x Cut, IIRC. So the Double Cut materia is useless in that situation.Quote:

Are you restricted to the original materia? What about materia from BC and CC? You know the ones where you could create materia by taking pictures of colors or by combining materia in a machine a la Grandia.
But seriously, who the hell really needs to use materia?
I think I would choose three "All" materia just to see people look at me weird.
Bearing in mind I am your basic, natural coward
1) Underwater materia - That way I can just live at the bottom of a pond and hide from everyone
2) Fire Materia - I'll need to have something to complain about. I can just sit there and whinge about not being able to start a fire in my pond.
3) Odin Materia - Just for someone to talk to. He can tell me about lots of things... what its like in Valhalla, the reason why he has horns, tips for looking after his horse... then I can tell him all about my broken Fire Materia...
Buster Sword would be a great choice since you can use it to shield yourself.
Protect, Restore and Ice materias. Then I'd be happy. Freezing those sons o' ****** or just making a temporary ice wall to escape AND I could use it to escape over water, THEEHEE... And protect + regen would give me the extra immortality every time I happened to need it.

SFX materia so I could make movies and killer half-time shows
Eternal materia so I don't get hurt and don't have to eat, drink, or sleep.
Eeep materia so I can walk around with my eyes closed and still be able to see like a normal person. You know? Just because it'll freak people out.
It's been a long time. I've avoided playing VII because of that slight alteration of HP/MP when you change materia. We all know you never need to master any magic to complete this ff.
Enemy Away: I can avoid most of the gangs and live happily.
Quadra Magic plus anything say 'knights of the round' in case I do need to fight.
