Did you see the link I embedded in my previous post?
Almost the whole line is a reference to Xenogears actually.
Mirror Fragments, and small light are reference to Xenogears main theme Small Two of PiecesQuote:
"Uh...aaaa....? A billion mirror fragments.... small.... light... taken.... angel's... singing voices... zeno... gias...
Not to mention the angel reference screams Xenogears second Act...Quote:

All that in addition to his guest apperance in FFT, Cloud sure makes the rounds.
I was referencing Code Geass, however. As in Code Geass was a rip-off of Xenogears.
It's not surprising that Cloud can show up in pretty much any Squaresoft universe thanks to the Void being canon. No matter how far removed the universe is, there's a possibility of familiar FF names and faces popping up.
I kinda figured. I've heard of CG, but never watched it.
The other anime that Xenogears gets compared to is Neon Genesis Evangelion, which also combines giant robots with religious mysticism.
Might be a retcon for some of the earlier Square games. In Tactics the characters actually reactivate what is in effect a stargate that brings Cloud over. Might be a parallel diamension since Ivalice features a virtual duplicate of Aeris down to her name and profession.
I never watch CG? I watch it all the time... oh, wait. Did you mean Code Geass?
I watched the first seasons of Death Note and Code Geass via Comcast OnDemand, but had to give up cable. So I had to wait a few years to find copies on DVD. I watched the last seasons by checking them out from the local library. They have such good taste these days!
