John Stewart, Earl of Buchan
Wait a minute Bleys, France was Gaul back when Julius Caesar was commanding armies, so your first clue sucks, making my assumption of Joan of Arc a good one :p
Ah, you're being tricky, aren't you?
Gaius Julius Caesar.
We have a winner.
I didn't know Caesar's abduction by pirates was such common knowledge.
Gaul is France. Same thing.
I kind of regret that I didn't get to use my sarcastic, "You've got to get this" clues, such as "I was featured in one of Shakespeare's plays," "I have the same initials as Jesus Christ," "I was brutally murdered on the Ides of March by a coterie of douchebags led by my best friend Marcus," and "You have got to be kidding me, nobody's figured it out? Last clue, I'm Julius freaking Caesar!!!"
By the way, most of you fail for not asking such questions as "Are you male or female," "are you fictional," "are you still alive," and narrowing down the timeframe by asking if I had been born after key events such as major wars, the birth of Christ, and the establishment of the Hair Club for Men.
I forgot that we could ask yes or no questions.
it's kind of hard to win early if you don't, since the original plan was to post 5 hard clues before moving onto easier stuff.
Well let's hope that happens for Round 2.
