I just assumed we were talking about both entities since Square Enix most likely holds the rights to all the IP that Squaresoft developed.

My first Enix game was Dragon Warrior, but I played that after FFL.
Yeah I just assumed we meant Square and Enix in all forms.
The first Square game I played was Final Fantasy VII, which was published by Square Enix on the PlayStation Store in 2009! I win!!!
Final Fantasy VIII, if I remember correctly.
I don't think I ever saw any Enix games over here, at least not to rent (I never bought games when I was younger).
First Square Enix game? Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories
First Square game? Final Fantasy VII
First Enix game? E.V.O.: Search for Eden
final fantasy 5
Either Dragon Quest I or Final Fantasy IV. I honestly have no recollection of which one I played first.
The first one I remember playing particularly well is Final Fantasy VI though. The others I must have played when I was like 8.
Of course, if we're talking post-merger than FFX would be my first "Square Enix" game, but whatever :monster:
Secret of Mana. We poor Europeans didn't get FF until VII.
Rad Racer 2 *I didn't even know what an RPG was at the time :D*
First Square game was Final Fantasy Adventure, which I played on my Gameboy Pocket. My first Enix game was Illusion of Gaia. For some reason, it makes me feel old thinking of all the games I played before they merged, even though I'm only 19, and the Square Enix merge wasn't THAT long ago.
My first Enix game was Dragon Que... er, Warrior, and my first Square game, believe it or not, was Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest.
However, the game that hooked me on RPGs forever was Chrono Trigger.
