I dislike real-time communication as I find it too demanding of my attention. It also means I have to deal directly with human beings in some fashion and I dislike human beings as a rule. The less I realize I'm interacting with them instead of a walrus the better.
I use it sometimes. By use it, I mean I log in, forget I'm there and go do other things.
