My spelling and grammar were a lot worse. I was a lot more energetic and cheerful (not that I'm moody now, just mellowed) and whatnot. I remember the days fondly, I have to say. Every night, I would be chatting with Robb, Emma, Ashi, Squally and Sapphire. Just after that, Danni, Dan, Jewels, Rinoabella and Misty. Later the #eoff chatroom became pretty big. In the end, I would have the chatroom open and be chatting to about four or five other people at once on other chat systems. It was crazy, I don't think I could do that now. xD
I also remember emailing Cid whenever the site went down. xD You know, I guess I unintentionally got involved in staff things really quickly. I never really thought about it until now... in fact, now that I think about it, I changed EoFF avatar policy with my 14th post. o_o;
And yeah, I am very pleased with some of the members who have turned up recently. :D

Pretty sure I came here in 1999, but that the site was nuked and rebuilt in 2001 or something as I'm almost certain it wasn't 2001 like it says. And that the post counters have been reset at some point too, as I was pretty active here in the early Noughties :)
In '99 I'll have been 17. While everyone else was like, 12. So I've always been old :p
Memories.. mostly hanging out in IRC! Wasn't there a radio show or something, and little parties where we'd get together in IRC and listen in? Those were fun :) I think that's how I discovered OCRemix. I'm sure there was a pretty special party in there for an anniversary or something.. can't remember exactly though, memory is hazy (to be fair, I was probably drunk)

Yahoo! Voice Conferences were the best.
-
Should do them again. Except with whatever the kids are using these days for voice chats. :3
-
Skype and Yahoo! are the only two things that I know are good at voice chat. Although I'm not sure how Skype works with voice conferences, I can only guess that it's decent given voice/webcam chatting is what they specialise in.
-
I haven't had Y!M downloaded for years. Don't use my Yahoo! account much anyway.
I believe Skype does multiple person chats. I haven't used it for about 5 years for that purpose though. I shall investigate.
EDIT: Group calls are indeed possible. Excellent.
EDIT2: Video calls seem to be Premium Memberships only. Lame.
-
Not having to wear pants while I talk with you all is a bonus, not a detriment.
-
There is a catch to Skype - as soon as your group is over 25 users it stops allowing group calls. It kind of makes sense, because more than 25 people in a call would be chaos, but it's a pain if you have a fixed group that you keep adding people to as it means once it grows past 25 you have to add people to a separate group if they want to be in on a voice call.
-
Maybe we should organise something, but if we do, let's do it in a new thread. :)

It was a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... The Summoner of Leviathan, Dking'squeen, and I were asked to stop spamming in one of the FF boards. We thought we were so cool.

I'm very very new, but planning on staying!
I love this place and I love you guys. I have so much love to give!!!
But I wonder when I will stop feeling like that, and become as bitter and mean as some of you awful lot
I'm joking, I think.
-
If I was truly bitter Lock, you think I'd spend my time writing articles, hosting events, and now looking through glitches here? :p We're all just old and grumpy.
-
Yeah, as you get older, you'll start becoming very jaded like the rest of us bastards. :P

My niceness is kind of n shaped. When I started out I kept getting into some debates with some FFX fanboy (Braska Spira, or Tedius Zanarkundo or whatever for those that remember) and spent a long time telling him how trout that game was. I mean, I don't think it's trout now or anything, but it was fun to do it then.
Then I became nice but nobody on here noticed it.
Now I'm just an arsehole but really it's the only way I know how to show affection.
