That's incredibly interesting. I live with PTSD and Panic Disorder and I find Tetris to be a total double edged sword. On one hand, Tetris absorbs me completely and the constant need to react, plan, etc. lets me lose myself from the stresses of the day (or of the situation if I'm on my phone and in a social situation I'd rather not be in). On the other hand, my mother was a huge fan of Tetris and so it also reminds me of her. (My mother is the cause of a lot of my traumatic experiences.)
That's a totally unique situation though. I found the Bejeweled works wonders for me since there's no connection to my biological mother but has the same relaxing factors as Tetris.
If I can't calm myself with cognitive behavioral therapy (mostly self-orientation based exercises) I totally turn to games like this.
