I can't emphasize how much better this style would have looked.
I can't help but hope that these images are some kind of prototype and they will release the final, updated screenshots where they have gone back and overlayed more texturing onto the sprites.
Again, they should have made it look like the PSP ports of FFI and FFIV. I kind of lost my boner looking at this.

Son of a submariner, those graphics are horrid.
This isn't just me being boring and old and hating change, I just think they look terrible and amateurish. The original sprites made the game look an awful less cartoon-y, which is not something I'm inherently opposed to as I rather like the Wind Waker-style Zelda games.
Kefka looks great, but those player sprites look even worse and more amateurish. Some of you guys must just be blind to design fundamentals in general.Quote:
