Apparently the Church came and destroyed the existing Church in order to make one that suits their religion. They are obviously using slaves to build it. They are also preaching that they can bring about peace

Apparently they plan to kill all of the slaves afterwards. Some of the guards, however, are saying that everyone will be set free so long as they convert.

The tower is locked and remembering the monks thing, I head north, back to the Church of the Nuns of the Above.
