ToriJ is right, there are a lot of spots in this game that can hand you your trout. I think people think it's easier than it is because they know where to find everything, where to go, where the game breaking relic's are, stuff like that. For a first time player going in blind and exploring for yourself, it will be tougher.
Don't forget you can only get Mog's Water Rondo dance in the World of Balance, and you can only get Snowman Jazz in the World of Ruin.
Better get it before the end of the world of ruin then!
This game is easy to break if you figure out what you're doing early enough. But even a broken party will struggle on some of the sidequests and in Jurassic Park!
