PS1: Final fantasy 7, uhh... FF9 maybe?
PS2: Dead or alive 2, final fantasy 10 maybe? i seriously don't remember
PS3: Metal gear solid 4 (definitely, it was bundled with the console), soul calibur 4 maybe?
PS4: Final Fantasy Type 0 (bought this before the PS4 actually), Driveclub
Xbox 360: Tales of Vesperia, Rez HD
Super nintendo: Mario kart, donkey kong country 3
Gamecube: Mario kart double dash, MGS the twin snakes
WiiU: Mario kart 8, bayonetta 2
PSP: Valkyrie Profile, star ocean 2
3DS: New super mario bros 2, fire emblem awakening
PC classification is difficult, but let me try going by major windows version.
Pre-win9x: I didn't actually *own* any of these games. I pirated them.
Win 9x/ME: Battlezone, need for speed 2
2k/xp (NT5.x): I was a poor student living alone so i pirated almost all the games during this time. FFXI, probably, because it couldn't be pirated :p.
Vista/win7/win8 (NT6.x) fallout 3, possibly. mass effect
Another reasonable classification method would be major directx version required by the games, but that's a real bitch to keep track of in my head :p

What a cool topic! I'll see if I can remember! Also, I am omitting handhelds for this list. Sorry for the upcoming long winded stories in some cases!
NES: RC Pro-Am, Pinball, and Mega Man 2.
Story: I was a tad late to the party for the NES. I played a bunch at cousin's and friend's houses That's why I didn't get the original Super Mario, though. The NES was just the NES with two controllers. That and the games were my Christmas gifts. SMB2 was a gift a couple of hours later at my grandma's house on my dad's side of the family (local families would gather there for bonus gifts from the grandparents).
SNES: Final Fantasy II (obviously Final Fantasy IV)
Story: Again, my cousin had a SNES before me, and I was blown away by early SNES titles such as Super Mario World, ActRaiser, and Final Fantasy II. Christmas came and went, but my parents got me a Turbo Graf-16. At the time I thought they got me that because my grades were on the poor side, but my parents didn't want to have nothing, obviously. Years later my mom said that the SNES was just that high in demand and she couldn't procure one in time. My grandma on my mom's side took me to Funcoland in February literally out of nowhere, and after I was done playing random games (remember when they actually play whatever game you asked for to test as long as they had it?) on the counter was a SNES and Final Fantasy II. I was absolutely floored. This may sound stupid, but it was one of the best moments of my life. Childhood goggles sure are powerful.
Genesis: Sonic 2
Story: Friend across the street from my great grandmother's house had one since launch, and I was very familiar with it. I got deep into Sonic games around the time Sonic 3 released, and I did get that one soon after it launched, but I was so late to the Genesis party that I got the model II and Sonic 2.
Nintendo 64: Super Mario 64, Crusin' USA
Story: Managed to get one soon after launch. I was a freshmen in High School. Basically worked my ass off and got great grades and my mom rewarded me with one. We had to drive far for one since they were still hard to find then. Got a bunch more games that Christmas.
PlayStation: Final Fantasy VII
Story: Liked the PlayStation, but was not interested until FFVII came out. Was sold on it completely when I tried it at a friend's house. Got it that Christmas. I think I was a sophomore by then.
Dreamcast: Sonic Adventure
Story: Not long after graduating High School, I got decided to pick up a Dreamcast. Was sold on it after a friend bought it. By this time Sega already announced that they were going out of the console business so for my birthday my mom picked me up the stuff for cheap at a Toys R Us.
PlayStation 2: Tekken Tag Tournament
Story: Saved money and was out of High School by this time. Had a good paying job for someone who lived at their parent's house rent free. Just waited until the local Gamestop had one in stock and picked one up. I knew games I wanted were just around the corner so I bought the Tekken game to hole me over until then since I was more into that series back then.
Gamecube: Super Smash Bros. Melee, Rouge Squadron II, Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin
Story: Christmas! I still laugh at the memory of dad saying if Pikmin was released in his day he would get high as s*** and just run around with a bunch of Pikmin because it would be so mesmerizing.
Xbox: Knights of the Old Republic
Story: Friend worked at Gamestop at the time. Said he could get me an Xbox and KOTOR for cheap. Gave him cash. Got my stuff!
Wii: Twilight Princess, may another game I honestly forget
Story: Actually was one of those crazy people that waited in line overnight, sort of. I woke up at 2 in the morning and headed to my local Best Buy. Guy in line said there were 45 units to be released on launch. I was the 20th person who wanted to buy a Wii to show up. Everyone in line was civil and a dude was passing out unofficial tickets for people to hold on to so we all could wander around and not stand in a literal line. That way when Best Buy officials show up we could all easily line up in proper order and it's all good. No drama. No bad vibes. Everyone had a great time. One guy even bought me some clothes because it was a bit cold out. Best buy peeps showed up and I went home a tired, but happy guy.
Xbox 360: The Orange Box, Halo 3
Story: Not much to this one. Just another cool Christmas!
PlayStation 3: Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Story: Government gave money to the country to help stimulate the economy. I wanted to get a PS3 before Metal Gear Solid 4 came out. Thanks, US government! Bought one randomly one day and got MGS4 when it was launched.
WiiU: New Super Mario Bros. U
Story: Friend reserved one, but then decided he didn't want it. I told him I'd pay him back in installments if he still got it for me. And that's what happened! Got one on day one!
Xbox One: Halo Collection
Story: A couple of months ago my friend won the console in a contest for work. He's a PC dude. He sold it to me, and I am once again in the middle of paying him back in installments for it. I wasn't even planning on getting one, but why not? Been enjoying more current games as a result. Love the controller feel, too! Still want a PS4, though! One day soon!

PS1- Disney's Hercules : The first very game I ever owned I believe, from memory !
PS2- Crash 4 : One of the reasons why I upgraded to the PS2 to continue the Crash series.
DS- Final Fantasy IV : I wanted to get a DS just for this reason alone and just play FFIV all day long.
3DS- Final Fantasy : Theatrhythm. : Upgraded for this and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep.
PSP- Sims 2 Pets I think ? : I was $ 5 at the bin and I wanted to get a PSP just to download old PSONE games, so I got a cheap PSP and some cheap games for it.
NES- Ninja Gaiden : This game just looked to be really fun, so I brought it first. I don't have very much NES games, but I'm glad that I have this one and that it was my first.
SNES- Disney's Aladdin : Big mistake, I assumed that it was just like the Sega version. After I completed it, I gave it away from memory.
Sega Mega Drive- Sonic the Hedgehog : You can't have a Sega without the blue hedgehog !
