Wouldn't tie fighters make better egg ships? You could make the body of an X-wing look like a chicken beak? Sorry if the suggestion is too little too late.

Have you thought about taking a black sharpie marker and drawing some funny looking storm troopers on the white eggs? Probably, but if not, it could be really cute.
