Petition to disallow "things that people do that piss you off" threads

This annoys me, not the threads, but this sort of thinking. 'This should not be allowed', I get kinda sick of those words. The threads can be fun, the ABC/Word Game threads at least had a reason for being banned (hogging up the database), but I'm against the R=U ban, I find that bloody ridiculous. Everyone is an individual, and just because one or two people have a 'flame war' (though it's usually just a heated discussion, which i find enjoyable to read) doesn't mean that the next set of people are going to being another flame war. If there was genuine flaming going on in R=U threads, that's where the moderators come in and warn members, either in the thread or via PM. The entire thread type shouldn't have been banned.

If the thread is entertaining and fun to read, does it really matter, so long as no direct attacks on the members are made (i.e racist comments or ones saying their opinion is invalid)?

Isn't there a reason for PM-ing? Why can't they use that to flame each other?

They can use PMs if they want, so long as it stays private, then I don't really care :p
