is your PC good enough?

inferno10, I got the same error box. I thought I'd try this program out on this 366 Celeron computer just to see how troutty it really is. But, it's pretty bad when the test program doesn't even work on here...

I guess I'm stuck with gettin' it on the PS2 (If they put it on the PS2 in the first place), unless I get a new computer sometime soon.

Inferno10, I'd say it's your video card. Could be just bad drivers for your video card, but heck ATI has troutty drives. Try to up-date your drivers then try the benchmark. If you still get the error, then I would just buy a new graphics card. If you do up-grade go with Nvidia, their support and prices are awesome. :)

its hand built by me too. I'm getting the GeForce FX 5200 because Square is optimizing it to run on the NVidia cards so i thought i might as well get a good one :mog:

So is 4300 any gud then?

haha as for square optimizing the game for nvidia cards, that's pretty much just something nvidia's paying square to say. if you look at bench mark scores radeons's work better. they named the radeon 9700 pro the official beta card for ffxi. but if you get a card that's over kill like the fx 5900 pro or the radeon 9800 pro you're set lol. but i don't know who wants to spend $500 on a graphics card.

My score before was a joke... I actually got 995... which is the main reason I'm getting the ps2 version XD

I don't see the point in spending X amount of dollars just to play a couple games... especially when I'm not employed ;)
