Okay, can you help me with the Deep Sea Research place? I found it and I can't figure out what I'm supposed to do once I get there. Squall said to check out the core but Whenever I take a step forward I always have to fight something.
You could just kill off the weakest member until you get the one you want, it doesn't take that long.Quote:

Hey, Al Bhed, your right when it comes to her killing someone and bringing another person back, but that's not what I meant. I meant, that, say you go to her castle and you've picked Squall, Selphie and Rinoa and you have junctioned ALL your magic and Gf's to them, and say that your other characters are at low levels coz you ain't trained them, they have no magic and no GF's, so you've gone into her castle, what does she do, she RANDOMLY pics 3 of your people to fight her, say she pics the 3 people with low levels and who have no magic at all and not even one GF to back them up, what do you do?
Or you could just reset the game and go in again and hope that all three are there, or at least 2 of them.
Sheesh, you don't need to be PERFECT in every game. :P
Sorry about answering, i could not help it!Quote:

Check the blue light carefully, you must not move while the core is lit, otherwise you'll get a battle. walk slowly towards the core, once you are there talk to it and it will tell you this:
So you wish to challenge me...
- It's not our will to fight
It's your only option, so pick it. after this you will go into an inevitable battle against a ruby dragon, this things are powerfull you might aswell want to check your junction.
If you beat it it'll tell you this:
Begging me for mercy?
- Yeah...there's nothing I can do
- Never
Choose never and you'll go into another battle with another ruby dragon.
Beat it once again and you'll get this:
Damned imbeciles. Why do you wish to fight?
- For the sake of protecting something
- None of your imbeciles
-
Right below None of your imbeciles there is a secret third option that is invisible, choose it and you'll go into the real deal with bahamut. beat him and he will join your party.
Hey that is completely fine, the way you answered the question was good, I probably would have answered it in the same way. so there's no need to apologise, Thanx for answering it, I'm sure that, that person will appreciate your answer!Quote:

Think I should add that there's a LOT more to be done in the Deep Sea Research Centre. Once you've done everything Shockwave Pulsar said go back out and go to the room to the left of the lift on the Ragnorok (I think it's that one) then go back into the research centre.
I won't bother spoiling, or wasting time explaining the next bit but I recommend Encounter-None, and make sure someone has draw equipped!
Enc-None dosn't work at the bottom of the Deep Sea Research Facility. ;)
True, if you can't beat Bahamut easily, you might not wanna bother with the rest yet. But make sure you have draw when you do!!!
[q=NM]Enc-None dosn't work at the bottom of the Deep Sea Research Facility. ;) [/q]
True, but it is twice as effective as Enc-Half, giving you an encounter once every 7-10 steps instead of the usual once every 2 steps.
*Raises eyebrow*
Which version are you lot playing? I don't remember ever getting an encounter while using it.
How should I use my FFVIII CD? As a coaster, or a frisbee for my dog?
You shouldn't use it for a coaster or a frisbee! You should keep it somwhere safe, somewhere where it won't get scratched, and you should play your FF8 CD as loud as you can!
Ok I have posted this before ages ago but there are enough GFs in the game to give 2 to each character therefore junction any two to each character but do not give Eden or Bahamut to Squall or Irvine the simplest reason is that once they have their final weapons theyre more valuble using their limit breaks than wasting time on a GF.
However never give a character only support GFs you never know when a ruby dragon or marlboro will put you in a position where the only option is attack with a Summon then if theres only one person still able to summon youre not screwed.
Also there is something I picked up on with two GFs (another good thing to do is find GF combinations where summoning one will not lower the others compatability level e.g dont junction Ifrit and Shiva to one person its gonna be bad summoning time for either as if you need Ifrit in one fight then Shiva immediately afterwards you summon shiva slower.) Is that the secondary GF will no longer need its Basic Command abilities such as Draw Magic or GF these will allready be there from the main one therefore a couple of Forgetting items later you have around 4 more slots to put GF abilities in to using Items after level 70 they'll no longer need GF HP +10% either as the HP will still be 9999 without it so forget the lesser abilities for better abilities. Good luck with the junctioning also makesure you get plenty of marlboro tentacles they give the status defense junction for 3 spells I made my characters pretty much immune to Bad breath with a few high level status spells (Pain is a must)
Also At the bottom of the deep sea reaserch center pack a hell of a lot of aura spells or stones and use selphie and pray for The End to come up if your not level 100 else theres another way to do it Refine the laguna card for 100 hero potions then refine them in to 1 holy war trial it'll last all battle but use the aura stones before it else the character is immune even to Aura :D Not doing a spoiler but think it might help out a lot
woooh, that's alot to take in, good theory though, any one on this thread should really listen to you, you got some great info, not sayin that I aint.
Umm, while that is a relatively valid approach, if you still have to rely on GF summoning you really need to rethink your strategy methinks. If you need The End or invincibility items to beat Ultima you still need to rethink your strategy.
Giving to GF to each character would again be a reason to rethink strategies unless you're desperate to kill Ulty in a flashy way.
