No Love...

So long as it doesn't take away the involvement in the story a-la FFX. I liked FFVII, where although there was a love-story inside it, it never affected Cloud's individuality and you could still snub one girl and hit on the other one. :p I like to feel like I'm in control of the main character - and that I can build a personality. If they can manage these two things, I will be happy.

Maybe they could get a love story going where you fall for an NPC, a-la Zell and the pig-tail girl. :p

I'm not going to knock any love story (or lack of) until the game comes out.

Although I'm glad that the guy won't fall for the girl wearing the apron made out of a plastic raincoat.

There will be love stories but it will not have a huge or important part of the story and I for one am glad. It will take the back seat like in FFVII. While there was a love story that was far from the main focus.

If there's no love story then I know I'll get bored with it quickly. One of these days Square is going to realize that they'll sell a lot more copies if the main characters fall in love and make sweet naked music together.

I wonder if Vaan is even going to be a part of a relationship. I can't really see him with anybody, he's so....girly, for lack of a better word. it would look really weird. If there's going to be love, I would rather have it be between some of the other characters.

I also think there will be a minor love triangle between Vaan, Ashe and Panello. Much like FFVII.

What about Balthier and Fran? I don't think it's likely, but it could happen. They're 'partners'.

Yes, Vaan is a little girly for a man. And without a love story, Final Fantasy will feel like something is missing. It won't be the same.

Well really the way Square describes the love story, it's just like pre FFVIII games where it's there just not the entire story and game with a little bit of side stuff added in. In all honesty I bet it's gonna be like FFVII in regards to the love story being there, but not consuming every aspect of the game *FFVIII* or having a large influencing aspect to the game *FFX* but this is just what I think it'll be like considering what Square has mentioned about the game thus far.

I hope they don't fall in love.

Yeah...without SOME kind of a love story, I don't think I'd enjoy the FF games as much. It adds a more realistic thing to the game....I don't know, it makes the story feel more epic. I don't think that they would just take that element out of the game for no real reason. When was the last FF without a love story....I haven't played every single one, so I don't know.
