This is red and blue? You must have a screwed up monitor/browser/computer/something.
Looks more orange and purple in your screenshot. Dunno why the difference.
Edit: Actually, no. It's just that the traces of red in the purple and the traces of green in the yellow were so faint that I didn't pick up on them the first time I viewed your LJ. Or something. I don't know, I'm confused now. D:
Well it goes like this:
Good websites: blue
Offical looking/government websites: white
Amateur websites: black
geocities websites: ugly wallpaper
childrens websites/bbc: bright colours
I prefer red on a white background
Did you ever notice how most websites are blue, or mostly blue?
Yes.
Anyone ever figure out why?
I don't know if anyone has ever done a study on it, but they must have because why else would they all be picking blue? I think blue is more or less a neutral colour that is not hard on the eyes like some others could be.
Are you sick of blue yet?
I'm not sick of EoFF blue, but I am sick of MSN blue. I have a very pretty sagy green desktop theme and that MSN blue really clashes with it.
What color do you think should replace blue as the internet color? I say green.
Yes, I say green as well.
What are we going to do about this? Do you think a peasant uprising is out of the question? Theoretically, if I were to begin such an uprising, could I count on your support?
I haven't started any uprisings lately so I'm a bit out of practice, but if you start this uprising, then yes, you'll have my support.
Red can be really nice to look at if it's used correctly, same with green and blue.
I fall under the minimalist, black text on white banner, in terms of web design. White just looks clean to me. I like my website to look clean and to the point, with no distractions. People who use blue as the basis of their site's color scheme are probably subconsiously emulating the genius of Microsoft Windows and it's Internet Explorer, which by default carries the inoffensive blue colorscheme discussed here.
White backgrounds can cause a lot of eye strain. Black background with white text is easier on the eyes than white background with black text, especially if you have a CRT monitor, or have your computer in an area with low lighting.
I've never liked bright backgrounds. I offer a few at FG for those who enjoy them, but I tire of them quickly whenever I select them. I have an LCD monitor, and I still think dark backgrounds blow bright backgrounds away.
I try to avoid making blue webpages/LJ layouts for that very reason. So much blue! So little orange! I like orange...
I prefer gray.
>>> I use #B2C1D7, but Im not sure what kind of color is.
This kind. Kind of pale blue-ish, I suppose.
>>> yeah.. pale blue-ish, that is what i use in my site..
I like that color..
