Just mailed Square-Enix about it. Doubt I'll get a reply, but it doesn't hurt to try now does it...
There's no need.
1. If this was a real article, it would be more detailed and better done. The graphics are terrible. Also, they wouldnt invert a picture of Squall (how tacky), but instead put at least a screenshot of this game in.
2. How is it that, after announcing a brand new SquareEnix game (a Final Fantasy game, no less) the only ones who have any sort of information or pictures is this random, obscure magazine? If Square announced a new FF, or even the name of a new FF, it would be plastered all over every game magazine ever made, not to mention most every FF/video game site around.
3. Even if this phantom magazine did get exclusive coverage (why they'd give it to such a crappily produced magazine, I'll never know) there'd certainly be much more too it.
4. And most conclusively, crappy (and even some well done) 'magazine articles' announcing sequeals/remakes of VII and VIII come out often, usually at least every 6 months.
1. Japanese mags always have a terrible layout, and if it was just an announcement, there wouldn't be any screenshots.Quote:

3. No comment :)
4. No comment either, you're right about that...
Altough I agree with you, after scoping out everything I could find about it :P, I fear it's a fake.
Well, at least there's no need to buy a Gaycube then.
I know all about V-Jump, and that clearly aint a V-Jump article. Their layouts may be weird (I like them myself) but their graphics are of cleaner quality.
They could do an VIII movie and it would do well. A game would be met with about the same results as Bush being elected... half of the people thought it was a golden age for the country, and the other half just about had an ulcer.
No, you just made a complete ass out of yourself. Are you 13 or something? You remind me of the comic below.Quote:

1) multiple GC discs are neither uncommon nor expensive.Quote:

3) the GAMEcube is made for playing video games on. If you think playing video games makes you cool or hardcore, you need to go outside for a few minutes. Anyway, Blood Omen 2, Soul Calibur 2, and Resident Evil are all not only Gamecube games, they're sitting right here next to me. I wouldn't call ANY of these kiddy games.
Furthermore, I can think of MANY good reasons to release something on gamecube. Not the least of which being it can graphically give the PS2 a sore posterior and actually HAS Dolby 5.1 surround. The only reason I can think of to NOT release something for GC is the rarity of households containing one.
Back to the image itself... Yeah, this looks pretty fake. I could do something just as good in minutes. Also, it does NOT say that it's a GC exclusive ANYWHERE. It says "only for" and then it says something in kanji. Nintendo MIGHT have a kanji, but the corporate logo has ALWAYS been in English. The part at the bottom that says PS2 - GCN says "Kingdom Hearts 2 PS2 - GCN Final Fantasy A.C - DVD" in case you were wondering. There is also a part that says "guumukikoobu" which I can't decipher... "gum kickoff"? Anyway, there's no part that says "only for Gamecube".
Everybody knows that undecipherable kanji are the key to rumor-mongering.
If they ever do another FF sequel, I hope they don't do a shameless graphical and geographical re-hash of the previous game. FFX-2 was ok, but not up to the standards of the FF series.
So, I'm the bad guy for pointing out how narrow minded someone is when it is okay for the other guy to use a deragatory term towards homosexual people(kind of) ? Okay then. :rolleyes2Quote:

I think it has been established that this news is fictional, so this thread is done.
